I like the website better than the stores, lol. The local one is inside of our mall.

You could put any flying critters into the background of the Dark Horse, I do get what you mean by 'too cluttered' though.

Dixie_Darlin, that is a neat idea! I have seen 'couples tattoos,' but not like that where they come together to make one tattoo. That is awesome!

angel: We would love to see your cat tatt!

Um, i have two. I have had a tigger on my right thigh for about 10 years. And i have a large tiger crawling down my back. I had this done for my birthday last year, i designed it myself....sorry about the quality of the pic though,I will have to get hubby to take a better one, i cant !!
The pic was taken about 2 hrs after i had it done. It took about 2 hrs to do and hubby couldn't understand, as i never said ouch once !!
I didn't think it hurt really, but as a rule im a wimp but this is kinda different. I was worried it was too big, as im only tiny, 5ft 1, 7 1/2 stone and a size 8 ( UK ) But its fine.

nice work on everyone so far

I have one and will have DBF take a few pics when I get home. I kind of regret getting it as it was sort of peer pressure by a friend to get one when I was 19 years old (now 31). I am so glad the artist who did this did not mess up since I was squirmy and pretty much
half the time and giggling since the needle hit my love handles.

In fact - I like all of them so far - even the cherries!
I can understand why you want to change them/cover them up - but I still think they're cute.

Gary has some original needle blue ink - some from the army, and then he had my name tattooed on his other arm with the chinese symbol for peace underneath it. When we adopted Naomi, he added her name underneath, and "I belong to" put over the top of them.

We each have the other's name tattooed on our ring fingers.

Alycia - Gary and I have been trying to figure out what we want to do, but plan to do a "couples" tattoo. The person who owned the shop where I had his name tattooed onto my ring finger told us about a 70-year old couple who came in to have something like that done, and we've been playing with different ideas since then. I love it!

And Chris - it is kind of addictive once you start, isn't it?
I'd love to see a better pic of the expansion work you've had done on your arm - the "before" and "after" pics are amazing - I'd love to see what it looks like now.

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of mine on my laptop, they're all on my computer at home. But I can explain what I have:

Technically I have 6 tattoos, but they all go together. I have three stars on each wrist. The two outside stars on each wrist are smaller than the middle star, and they are alternating colors. On the left, it goes orange turquoise orange. And on the right, it goes turquoise orange turquoise (my FAVORITE colors). Maybe when I get home (if I EVER get home from here lol) I will post pics of them if I remember. They still need to be touched up, they look a little icky cuz they haven't been touched up yet and tattoo's are supposed to be touched up after the first year or two of getting them, and I just haven't found the time to do it.

They have EXTREME significance and meaning to me. They represent a lot of things for me- basically my life and all the crap that has happened to me, for instance right now sitting in a hospital for such a long time dealing with all the pain of my life. They also represent my earlier days, especially the last years of high school, my severe depression, my suicidal/self-harm days (I used to be a cutter, and by getting tattoos on my wrists it seemed to make me proud to show my cutting scars and that I've overcome that.) But that reason is very VERY personal to me, I don't just go showing them off to everyone and explaining that story. I'm not proud of my scars in that sense, I'm proud of myself in my own personal way.

They hurt like a mother *beep*er, because they were right on those tendons and bones or whatever is right on the wrist, and it's kinda weird cuz like whenever I get the urge to do something stupid (as written above) those tattoos are the first things that I look at and it reminds me of why I got them in the first place. Like I said, it's very personal and I don't share this stuff with hardly anyone, so consider yourselves lucky lol.

I'm thinking about getting another tattoo soon to represent this whole headache/pain aspect of my life, maybe a quote or symbol or something. And I would go with my boyfriend to get it and try to convince him to get the one that he really wants to get too. It'll be our little "bonding" time lol. Not like identical tatts, I hate that. Because that wouldn't mean much to me. It's more the process of getting them that's more meaningful for me personally. But everyone has their own opinions on that, I don't want to offend anyone. I mean, who knows! As our relationship goes on and on we might get something that represents both of us together but since we're somewhat in the early stages of this relationship it just wouldn't make sense.

Sorry, forgot to mention: a lot of you guys have many super cool tattoos, and it's nice to know that most of them have a big significance to each individual. It really bugs me when people get tattoos JUST to get them, because they think that they are the cool thing to do. But a lot of you are right, it is very addicting. Even right after the first star that they did in the shop, I was already thinking/planning on what my next one would be lol. It's like a sickness!

I don't like having a tattoo that has no meaning to me either. Which is why I can't believe that I let my aunt and the tattoo artist talk me into getting it while she was getting her's done.

She's got some pretty neat ink. My favorite is the one she had done with me which is a sunflower on the top of her wrist and a vine winding around her wrist. All of her tattoos have meaning, but not deep meaning. She loves Eeyore so she has him Tattooed on her ankle, Sunflowers are her favorite flower, and Garfield is on her back sticking his little middle claw up at everyone.

She is thinking about getting something that I designed for her done pretty soon now that my cousin's were just born. It's a rose/quill dipping into an inkwell over a piece of parchment paper, and she want's all her neices (and now a new nephew!) written down in an old style writing.

Tattoos are addicting, I can't wait until I can afford my second one. I've decided to get a small Bean Bean done on my shoulder as soon as I find a good enough drawing or an artist to do it for me. And I decided also that after he crosses the bridge (although I hope I find the fountain of kitty youth before then!) that I would have little angel wings and a halo added to him.

I would love to turn my back into a Canvas but Cody isn't so agreeable with that. I can't imagine why though. But the other day I stuck it to him good, I told him that I wasn't going to let anyone tell me what I can and can't do with my own body!
I'm not being in that kind of relationship again! Although I'm not so mean that I would do it just to spite him, his feelings do mean a lot to me, but I don't take "no" so well. There are much nicer ways to say it.

I know this thread is a tad older, but I'd like to show off my ink
.

Here is my rabbit chest piece tattoo. My first tattoo, actually. It took 5 sessions & 1 year to complete and cost me around $1,200 with tips at completion. The rabbit in the center is my
rabbit, Morgan. The rabbits on the sides are colored after Champagne D Argent rabbits (beautiful buns!) and the idea stemmed off of a rabbit necklace I found on the internet. My tattoo artist took the rabbit charm necklace and turned it into this original artwork....

Sorry about the glare....this picture was an hour or two after completion. I don't have any spot-on healed pictures.

And then this is my tattoo of my precious Zaide Katt. Zaide was 7 months old when he passed away (October 1st, 2008). A legit animal communicator said she feels he died of a seizure, which makes sense to me. Zaide's entire litter was rescued from a cat hoarder. The rescue has 2 of his litter mates still, or at least that I know they were still alive as of 6 months ago. One is blind, the other has severe bowel issues and almost had to be PTS multiple times. I don't want to go into detail about his death...it was quick and heartbreaking for me. He didn't suffer, but it was so tragic...he was gone within a few minutes. Zaide was a Persian mix. He was so special to me because he was dwarfed. He was about 2lbs when he died at 7 months old. My precious baby. I miss him so much. I chose tiger lilies because I called Zaide "My little tiger".

Here is my most recent. I have 8 and I don't have many good pictures of most of them, but I thought that this was the best pic I have. I got this one about 2 months ago and I LOVE it!

I know that this is an older thread, but I thought that I would post a couple of my tattoos.

This one is on my belly, I don't really like the way it fuzzed up on the edges. I got it on a whim and I shouldn't have. An apprentice did it, and it was poorly planned.

This one has been a work in progress that I have been adding too a bit at a time over the years. The lizard was first, then I got it shaded and refreshed and then two years ago, I got the flowers. I would like to add more flowers and vines to it until in goes up the side of my back and over my shoulder.

I have a few, and probably will be getting another soon, like within the next week or two.

My first was a Chevy emblem on my lower back - I got that one because I had wanted one since I was 14. I'm a Camaro girl at heart, been thinking about adding the Camaro emblem in the middle of it. It needs some love.

My next was a butterfly and a ring of vines around my left ankle. After that, I got stars and tribal on each hip. In March 2008 I got a griffin/griffon/gryphon on my right calf, takes up most of it. It's my biggest tatt so far and has a lot of significance - I got it after we got married, and "Griffin" is my married name.

In July of this past year, I got a phoenix on my left shoulder blade while in New Jersey. That one has a meaning to it as well.

My next one is either going to be a dragonfly tribute to Monte, who passed away at 11mos in June '08. He brought me a dragonfly he caught about 10 days before he died. Or I want paw prints walking up my ribs, probably from my hip up. That one will represent all my furbabies past and present.

I attached a pic of the phoenix, because thats the only one I have on hand at work right now

I don't have one but will get a small one this year. Have yet to decide on the design, but I do know what I want in general and where it will go.
