I mean, she definitely FEELS better and looks better but she still can't breathe out of her nose and is still breathing raggedly. She isn't sneezing as much, she much more playful and she's eating, so I know that's good. She's hydrated. She's been on antibiotics since Friday. They said give them to her for a week, if she isn't better by then should I take her back to the vet?

I would call the vet and ask them.

I'm glad she seems to feel better! I hope she continues to improve.

I agree call the vet but here is the reason the vet said to give them a full week... If you start but do not finish a complete round of antibiotics some of the bacteria are left alive , these bacteria often turn into resistant as they were exposed to and NOT killed by the antibiotic ... A bloom of bacteria is also likely which in some cases can cause a worse infection than the original

Are you steaming her or running a vaporizer 24/7 where she spends most of her time? That will help clear the nasal passages and ease her breathing. If you have it, add a drop or 2 of eucalyptus oil to the water. That will really help open up the nose.

Yes, she's been getting steam from the shower about four times a day. I don't have a vaporizer and there is no way I can buy one right now. A lady at a rescue I contacted told me to put a drop of saline nasal spray on her nose. I don't know if it helps though. She's definitely better today. Still mouth breathing, but better.

If she's still breathing out her mouth, I'd call the vet and explain that she's still very congested and breathing out her mouth. Explain that you're steaming her and using the saline drops. Ask them if there's any kind of prescription nasal drops you can use. When Hannah was young and so very sick with an URI (she had the whole thing, congested, sneezing, runny goopy eyes) we gave her eye drops and nose drops. I don't remember what it was, maybe Terramycin??, but we used the same drops in her nose as we did in her eyes.
