Over the river and through the woods...
After reading through this forum it seems like a lot of kitties are sneezing/coughing. Including mine and my MIL's. Gizmo has had sneezing fits (7-8 sneezes in a row, snot flying everywhere...usually on me!) for the last few weeks, and one of my MIL's cats started doing the same thing. And I know my head and DH's head has been messed up lately. Can cats actually get allergies to pollen, mold, etc? And what do you do to treat it?

Yep, they sure can! Both of my girls have airborne allergies, but Hannah's the one who really struggles with them She's 4, weighs about 8.5 lbs, has feline herpes, and gets 1/2 a generic Claritin daily.

I would be concerned about the flying snot. Is it colored or is it clear? Colored snot indicates a possible infection, so I'd get that checked before doing anything.

Yes, allergies are possible - right now it is hard telling who is worse, me, one of the horses or Streak. Streak is sneezing (clear snot) and so am I, the horse is doing the horse version of sneezes. The three of us could be an orchestra of wheezes, sneezes and whistling breathing. I was hoping I had a cold until the itchy eyes started....
