Weekend Invasion into your life: Sat. Sept. 12

Any plans?

It's going to be a nice day, so I'll prolly do some outdoor work today plus go get some groceries, general tidying up, etc.

I'm getting myself prepped for next weekend's trip to Illinois. I have to pick up a bridal shower gift from Penney's, make an embroidery for a 50th wedding anniversary, stock up on cat food, clean, make arrangements for a cat sitter, etc.

Yes, by coincidence, I have my niece-in-law to-be's bridal shower next Saturday and my adopted parents 50th wedding anniversary party next Sunday and while they are 600 miles from here, they are only 30 miles apart from each other. Double whammy weekend coming in northern Illinois.

Sounds busy..... but at least they are on the same weekend, so you don't have to travel twice Hopefully its an enjoyable weekend.

Sorry Chris a little slow on the up-take this morning, the kitties actually let me sleep in a bit..

Sunny and a little on the cool side here so far this morning but it is suppose to warm up nicely this afternoon.

Have a couple of errands to run today, grocery shopping for one. I have been trying to watch my food budget a bit lately so have a couple of things I need to pick up today before their sales end. One is kitty litter they have 4kg bags of Arm&Hammer Multi-cat on for $2.59 which is a fantastic price..Only 3 per customer but still that's a great deal.

Afterwards want to stop by my aunts for a visit. She wasn't feeling well this week so I thinking a visit would cheer her up.

The kitties are good this morning. In their usual bird-watching mode. This morning we have a bunch of rose-breasted grosbeaks out front which are really pretty.

The usual...cleaning , laundry, groceries...

Afternoon,

My parents have been out of town for the last 2 weeks, so I'll be visiting with them most of the day. I'll be doing my laundry and I'll probably watch some of the UT football game this afternoon. Tonight, after I get home, I'll probably spend a couple of hours working on the computer and then probably spend the rest of the night sitting around quietly and reading. When I left the apartment this morning, Tiny and Promise were curled up together sweetly on the bed and Tre and Thufir were laying side by side on the couch. I love it when my kitties get along.

Work tomorrow, but today I am doing a few things... I got a new haircut this morning. I needed something different, and it's certainly different! Then I'll hit Target for some rubbermaid tubs and then a meeting for my local sci-fi group... I have a wedding to attend next weekend down in CA... leaving Tuesday, so my free time is all haywire.

Had planned on going on a trail run with a friend this early morning but we ditched that idea since we were having dry thunder and dry lightning, of course the main target being in the hills. I ended up at the gym for 70 mins, came home & cooked brunch for DBF and I, ran a few errands and now I'm just hanging out at home.

The kitties were going crazy when the thunder roared, they kept looking outside to see what was going on and then got hyper.

I've got three days off in a row ( ) so yesterday I pickled beets, froze turnips and scrubbed carrots from my garden.
Today I peeled the wallpaper on one bedroom wall, tomorrow I'll get the last wall and all the patching done and it'll be ready for paint.
I also made a double batch of waffles for the freezer so I'll have quick breakfast available.
Yep, an exciting day for me

Well, except for the cake getting a little warm and starting to melt!

Went to see Julie & Julia.....story was great, but the wannabe projectionist messed up big time, and the whole show was mostly headless people. I think I am gonna have to rent it later on and rewatch. Also watched BMO Nations Cup tonight, and fell asleep..... and stayed that way for 3 hours. Great, now I still dont know who won and wont be able to sleep now.....
