Congratulations on your newest addition!

I am the proud meowmy of cats that I "promised" hubby I was only going to socialize then look for new homes for.
Well, turns out I couldn't(wasn't going to) give up my quirky cats and now I have the 6 (my limit) and I love them all. Fortunately we also bought a bigger house to keep them all in(that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
)
So once again I say congratulations to you for giving a little furball a chance.

She looks just like a angel - blessings to you - and, may I say, I'm not surprised

Congratulations!

Every time I see a photo of Hope, I'm reminded of the cat my mother had in college. Hope could be a twin sister!

Boy - don't I know that agony. I am in emotional upheaval myself about my foster boys. I just CANNOT keep them.... the one I am worried about the most is Ghost - he was kind of like Hope - skinny, scared, undersocialized, every little noise or movement would make him run and hide. He spend 6 weeks living in the upstairs hallway bath. Little by little... trusting me and getting some meat on his bones, he blossomed.

He let ME know that he wanted to interact with the other cats... so again, little by little, under supervised conditions, he spent time with the other fosters. At first, he didn't know what to do or how to respond. But by interacting and watching, my little scaredy, mildly "austistic" foster boy learned and is now just one of the gang. He luuuurrrrves his "brothers and his Meowmy... and I feel the same about him. I don't know if he would adjust to someone else.

Awwwww Addiebee.... are you going to keep him? Do you have a picture to share with us?
It is scary to let them go... Hope is staying a lot because of love, an a lot because of fear too... I hope he can stay with you Addie, even if as permanent foster

By the way - silly question: what is Hope's gotcha day now: when she first got here, in may, or when now, for her official adoption?

What a lovely ending to this thread! I'm so glad this special, beautiful girl is going to live with you. I know you'll bring much joy to her life, and she to yours

She's SO pretty & will be absolutely GEORGEOUS when she is able to not be so skittish & afraid.(puts on a bit more weight) PLEASE DON'T GIVE HER UP!!! It will gnaw at you forever. Here's the good news: in some counties, there are programs that will spay & neuter your kitties at no cost,
and SOME of the vets who participate in these programs ARE willing to take payment plans for necessary shots and all, IF you're able to prove that you can't afford them!
Your home is the only one she's ever known, and you're the only human she's ever been able to trust for this long
and I'm sure that she loves you now.
Of course, I'm one of those who says to "keep them no matter what-better they have a loving home with you..."
Good luck-please keep her. I wish you all the best!!!

You may want to read the rest of the thread and the whole background before posting
Carolina was her foster mum, and is experienced with cats and knows these things. She was being responsible and deciding if she could permanently add another member to her fur family.

Carolina - I'm glad you kept her. If you can afford pet insurance and afford regular month to month expenses then you should be fine. Any big health emergencies should be mostly covered under insurance, so you should be fine.

Congratulations on the new addition

This is a recent thread of how Ghostie has become comfortable and part of the gang!!

http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=203968

I understand the fear. I had two fosters with me on Sunday to show... they were yowling and crying in the back seat and I was blubbering up front behind the wheel. I almost had to pull over I couldn't take it! And they belong to rescue I am going to leave... I am afraid they won't get the right care once they are out of my hands.
