I am going to Mexico for a week, an was looking for an fountain that holds more water than mine - I love mine, but I do need to refill every day...

For what I read the Drinkwell Platinum is a good choice to hold water for a week or so... if not, combined with mine it will do it. Anyway, I found it for $42.20 on Amazon, FREE SHIPPING!!!!!!

The price will show $69.99, as it is the lowest price it can be advertised, so it asks for you to add to the cart... OMG!!!!!
$42.20 for the Drinkwell Platinum!!!!
It solved my water problem!!!!

Cool! I'm glad I saw this thread. I almost bought this fountain at Petsmart, but thought I'd find it cheaper online. I just ordered it

I got ripped off, LOL!

I hope you all like it, I hate mine, in fact I am going to see if the company will take it back and give me a refund.

It does hold water for a week, but the water turns cloudy within 3-4 days, so I have to take the stupid thing apart every 3-4 days and clean it really good.... I think I am done with water fountains.... though, the 360 looks good, and I heard on here that they plan on making a stainless steel one.

Question: is it right next to their wet food? if so, try to move it away from it - it will help to keep the water clean.... a LOT

How odd, I've never had that trouble with mine or the other brands we own. I don't even use the filters

I got mine today
- the kitties love the double boxes too
.

Hoolly Cow -IT IS AWESOME! Whisper Quiet!
Wow, I was not expecting it to be so quiet! I was able to place it out of the kitchen now, and bring it to the office/dinning room and I hear........ nothing!

It holds a LOT of water, and the best part of all, the kitties took to it almost immediately. Of course they were used to the Petmate Freshflow, but when I put both of them side by side, they went straight to the new Drinkwell. Inspected, played with the water a little, and drank.... and drank..... and then kept going for more...

I will be watching closely to see how long the water lasts, how easy/hard cleaning is, etc...

Question for you who have it: what is the water flow setting you leave yours on? low? medium?

Ours is kept on low, my cats don't drink from the stream only from the bowl.

They don't drink from taps either, but like the dome & ramp from our other fountains.

I have mine clear across the room from food & litter box. My cats love to stick their little feet in the water though, maybe that is why? I tried with & without the filter, I get the same results. I have hard water, that may be it too.

It is quiet, that is for sure! I have mine on the lowest setting. It's really up to what you and your kitties prefer, I have mine on low hoping that the motor will last longer-I've seen some members on here have had to replace the motor.

I hope you love it!

That sounds like a great price! Your kitties will love it!

I have a petmate, like this one

http://www.amazon.com/Petmate-Deluxe...844749-5651934

My cats absolutely love it. It holds 1.5 litres, and you would think that would be enough water for at least a few days, but I have to refill it every day, maybe 2 days because the water gets low and it starts to make a little airy type sound to let you know it needs more water. I notice that with the fountain my cats drink more. Plus there is the evaporation factor going on too that contributes to low water levels.

I cleaned mine completely before going to work today. Took about 5 minutes from start to finish. So it's got a good top up of fresh water.

I doubt my cats would drink from one that spills the water out. I find that mine like to drink from the water flowing down the ramp area.

PS: have you seen this one? I doubt my cats would leave the plant alone!!!

I do have one of these too, but like you, I have to refill it everyday, or every other day at the most.... I am concerned with an upcoming trip, and need something that will hold water for a week - that's why I got the Drinkwell... I thought it was going to be noisier, like the original... but for my surprise......... whisper quiet! and it holds over a gallon of water!
