ANd here is her curly tail!! I've never seen a cat with a tail like this! Anyone else?? I've read up a bit and it seems that it's a recessive gene, regardless it's really cute!

I just read up on the breed!! She is definitely an american ringtail!! How cool!

My brother has one that has a tail like that, too.

Oh my heart. Ebony is too too precious. I have a soft spot for black cats, and she's an absolute doll. Thank you for adopting an adult cat (or, rather, thank your brother), especially a black one.

She is GORGEOUS! I bet she was a pedigree. Her face is the cutest!

Is that a little tuft of white on her lower belly? My black kitty Squeak has the same thing, though not as prominent. Just a little bit of longer white hairs on her lower belly. So weird!

Her curly tail is special!

that is a little tuft on her lower belly! very cute. She is adjusting OK. Only OK in that she has come right out of her little shell and walks around like she owns the place.....however she has decided that eating and drinking is not for her (started a thread in the health section) *sigh* so we might have to disrupt her calm confidence and take her to the vet sooner rather then later
