anyone know what BP ranges are for cats?

I've been able to find out what normal is (160 or less) but have not been able to find out what is considered mild, moderate and severe hypertension, does anyone know?

at what point would you expect the cat to be treated?

two of mine are having their BP monitored. My vet said to treat if consistently 160 or above.

what has your kitty's BP been? how many times do they measure it?

I mean, do they take several measurements each time, to account for stress?

My Coco goes every few montsh to have it checked.
She is on bp meds.

We always do several measurements each time and take an average. One of mine is terrified of people other than me. Needless to say going to the vet is very traumatic for him.

We are measuring his because he has an elevated level of protein in his urine. His BUN and Creatinine are normal, so is his thyroid. He is 10, though, so either disease could be there in an early stage.

His BP is averaging 150-155 right now and we are debating whether to just go ahead and start him on enalapril. His has had measurements as his as 190.

My CRF kitty has always been well under 160. We monitor hers just as a precaution.

She has CRF.
I will look in her files and see what it was.
Sh has been on the bp meds for almost a year.
They too her bp twice before she was put on the meds.
Then after being on the medicine for 2 weeks they took her bp again.
