We have a 14 week old kitten in our family, and are now catsitting a 10-month-old cat. The older cat has all her shots, but our kitten hasn't yet completed all his kitten shots. Do we need to keep these two completely separated to avoid illness?

I can't think of a reason why, a good question for the vet

I would indeed keep them seperated untill the kitten has at bare minimum 2 doses of vaccines.

Vaccination does not prevent a cat from being a chronic carrier if already exposed.... that can pass on to a non-vaccinated cat.

Just my opinion

If the kitten already has had most of his shots I wouldn't be too concerned. You might want to just call your vet's office and get their professional opinion to ease your mind one way or the other.

I tend to agree. However, depends on your cat's health, etc. Just double check with your vet to be 100% sure.
