I just have to share this story. One of the kittens in this story will be mine in 7 more wks. I have permission from the cattery owner to share the story and pic. I used this story in my children's church and everyone loved it, esp the adults.

The Story of Angel and Juliet as told by owner, Grace Cox (bigmeow.net)

Angel had a planned C-section on Friday, July 31. I did it because she had a couple of very large litters [9 & 10] and I had lost some, so the vet & I agreed to lessen the odds to lose babies by doing a C-section. All the babies had strong hearts on ultrasound.
When the babies came out, they all had heartbeats, but would not breathe enough to survive. The staff and I worked over an hour on them. Only one survived.
The entire thing was a disaster. Angel was very depressed. I was very depressed and felt awful. Geez, my odds were better to have let her do it on her own!
Angel would ahve nothing to do with her boy the first 24 hours. I fed him and kept him warm in hopes mom would come around.
On Saturday, she decided to go to him. It was a difficult day and he was not nursing well. he was losing weight.
Sunday, Juliet went into labor. She was in the birthing area next to Angel. Angel went into the box with Juliet and groomed her head as she labored. Juliet had 5 babies. I let Angel have 2 to go with her boy.
By Monday, Angel had moved herself and babies into the nest with Juliet. Now they are co-mothering all 6. How fabulous is that?! And, Angel is happy as a clam!

that is a wonderful story and the picture says it all. Humans could take a lesson from this. Humans underestimate animals.
