It's never a good sign when you go to pull into a truck stop and there are 3 police cars in front of the store, one sitting at each entrance, and one out back.
That was the case when I stopped at "The Hitchin' Post" in Huntsville, TX, this morning. I stopped on the fuel island and went inside to get a Coke. The clerk was busy filling out a report. She said they had just been robbed. She said the robber had a 9 mm and appeared to be "a little slow."
You'd have to be a little slow to pull out a gun almost anywhere in Texas. But this one really takes the cake; the Hitchin' Post shares a fence with the Texas State Penitentiary! This is the location of Death Row in Texas.
