Does it sound like she'll be having kittens tonight?

I don't really have any experience with cat labor, because our other cat Stars that had kittens a few years ago didn't show any labor signs, I just woke up to 4 kittens one morning.

Tonight Stripes is acting very strange. She wants lots of attention, purring loudly and won't leave me alone when I'm in the room. Acting very restless, moving around a lot, won't lay down. We keep her in my bathroom at night where I have a spot set up for her to birth in my linen closet, and she has been up there for an hour and I can hear her moving around all over up there, when normally she just goes in the linen closet and sleeps. I let her out for a bit and she started burrowing in my piles of laundry (until I moved them cuz I really don't want kittens born on my clean laundry lol,
yeah I should probably get it folded and put away) and roaming my room until I put her back in the bathroom.

Judging by that does it sound like she may be getting ready to give birth? I'll be checking on her all night since I have to wake up with my baby every few hours anyway.

This sounds a LOT like she's getting ready. If you have a way to check her temp, that would be awesome. If she's within 24 to 48 hours, her temp should be around 98-99 degrees F. Sometimes you can feel kitty contractions, sometimes not. But the fact she's "nesting" is a strong sign. Also listen for panting. Doesn't happen all the time, but is common for pre-labor kitties.

It's a definite possibility, but never a sure thing. Do you know when she's due? Goldy kept me up all night about every other night with this type of behavior--for two weeks--before she finally gave birth. Of course, she was pregnant when I took her in and I didn't really know when she was due.

Keep us updated.

Wellm I definitely think she's laboring now. Panting and heavy breathing and very uncomfortable, I think she's having contractions because her panting gets heavier every few minutes. She seems to like having me stay by her petting her head, every time I move away she comes over to me again. I just had to take a break to feed my baby.
Hopefully in the morning I'll have some cute kitty pictures to show you. I'm going to hurry and reread the birth info on here.

Well, guess I was wrong lol. After a few hours she stopped the panting and stuff and went back to just being very annoying in the middle of the night. She is acting fine, no discharge of any kind. I didn't realize cats could have false labor, but I've been reading more this morning and I guess they can? I don't know if something made her uncomfortable enough to stall it or if it just isn't time, but next time it better be the real thing cuz I can't spend another night awake for nothing lol.

Yup Mira did that too. It was crazy, I could feel the contractions when I put my hand on her tummy, her temp was even down. But she didn't end up having them until 2-3 weeks later.

But that's extactly how she acted the night she finally gave birth. There was discharge though, and lots of it.

Update- She went into actual labor about 11am today (I knew for sure because I saw a water bag come out and break. I was really worried for a bit because she labored 3hrs before the first kitten came, but then had 3 in about 40 mins and another about an hour after. So far I can't tell if there will be any more. They all seem to be doing good. Will post pics later!
