My friend Susan has a great apartment for cats. As if the hardwood floors, clawfoot tub, and feline sized nooks weren't enough, the main attraction is a large window in the living room that opens onto the roof over the porch. Her 3 indoor cats love to spend the late afternoon lounging around on the room when the days are warm. Last night, I decided to crawl out on the roof and get a few pictures of Buddy, Oscar, and Leah since the light was so good.

Here's Oscar coming from the shady spot in the corner to check me out.

Buddy came out the window to see what was going on and a stare off ensued.

The testosterone wore off pretty quickly and they both flopped down to enjoy the late day sun.

Buddy hamming it up for the camera.

And a close up. I think he should be on TV because he's so handsome and photogenic.

Oscar relaxing by the window.

And here's his close up. He was pretty beaten up when we found him, but the notches in his ear are the only remaining evidence.

Leah wandered out later and plopped down in the shady corner under the branches of a tree.

Leah up close and purrsonal.

Having a good stretch!

That was it for me. I decided to head down to lower ground and let the cats have their roof back.

Riki's (
) favourite spot was on my parent's garage roof, every night I'd go out to call her in (meow, meow, RIIIIIKIIIII) and half the time there she'd be on the roof. Most of the time I'd have to go get the ladder before she'd come down if it was still sunny out
.

Be carefull to trim the trees & tall shrubs around the roof though, I found cats are crafty when they want up or down from the roof!

They seem so content to lay on the roof and enjoy the sun!

She actually has a 4th cat who is indoor-outdoor that uses that tree in the corner to go in and out. The maintenance man started trimming on those branches last year and she had to rush out to keep him from trimming too much. The three guys here in the pictures show no interest in climbing down though. I think they know they've got it good and don't want to risk it in the wilds.

Gorgeous pictures!!!

My old neighbours used to let their indoor cats out on the roof and the kitties just layed around on the roof like these guys. There is even a tree that they could of climbed up and down if they wanted to,but they never did.Their roof extended over my door and sometimes I would leave my house to have two cat faces peering over the roof at me!

It was kinda creepy in the dark!
