Help??? I think Suma is in heat again. Her litter is only 2 1/2 weeks old. All of a sudden she wants out of the garage. We opened the door and now she runs out. She still sticks around, but when she is in the grass, she is rubbing and rolling and her back sticks up at times and she starts meowing - not real loud though. I was reading on the internet about her sticking her back up etc and like treading water, I thought something was wrong with her legs the way they were moving.

I can't take her to vet to be fixed yet because of the kittens right?? How long will this last? Is there something the vet can give her till we get her spayed? We don't need another litter for sure!! How will I know when she is not in heat? There is no blood, should I see any?

Thanks everyone... I sure wasn't expecting this! Right now she is locked up in the garage with the kittens.

You'll probably have to keep her contained until the kittens are old enough for her to be spayed (my vet says 9 weeks---ask your vet).

Keller had to have a c-section and they spayed her then. It didn't affect her milk at all. I would ask your vet and in the mean time keep her indoors.

Please do NOT let her outside until she is spayed - she will get pregnant again and that can harm both unborn and her current kittens. Call the vet and talk to them about when she can be spayed and what to do about her nursing.

I know a breeder who's female went into heat when the kits were 4 weeks old and started to ignore the kittens because she was in heat!

Spoke with my vet and she said once her milk is dried up - when the kittens are like 8 weeks old or 9, she will do her. So believe me, the appointment will be made immediately! She is in the garage and going nowhere except with her kittens!!!
