Fire officials have decided that it would be a "logistical nightmare" to evacute Tippi Hedren's R.O.A.R Shambala Preserve (near Acton,CA) where Michael Jackson placed his beloved tigers a couple of years ago (over 64 big cats, including lions, tigers, cougars, jaguars, etc. live there). Additionally, all kinds of homes (ranches, subdivisions, million dollar estates) under threat.....2 firefighters have been killed already ....may they be happy over RB, )

Those poor animals must be in a panic. I'm sure they can smell the smoke and fire. I'll keep you California folks and those beautiful animals in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for all the vibes....Pasadena Humane & SPCA Society is currently housing about 250 pets and is asking for donations of cat food & litter (and will accept dog food):

I am sending mega prayers and vibes that the firefighters and other unsung heroes (such as the shelter workers who are putting in 20+ hours shifts) are blessed in their works
.....the 35yo firefighter who was killed was only a few weeks away from the birth of his first child...

I'm hopeful that the firefighting strike teams are in place building a perimeter and will hold a line at the sanctuary. They have made some amazing "saves" in other wildfires. I wish the animals could be safely evacuated but I also realize how terrifying that could be for them and the difficulty of doing so. I think "shelter in place" is now their best hope. Pray that the winds stay calm.

I hope you are safe as well, I know you're in that area!

Thank you, Alley Girl, for your concern. Yes, I am safe this time. I loaded the critters last summer amid flying embers and 60 MPH winds. It felt like the end of the world. Fortunately, my neighborhood was spared. My heart goes out to all who are currently in danger.

Wow, how scary! I would ask how people can stand to live there but I suppose there is something wherever you go. Tornado, hurricane, etc.

Firefighters are such hero's. Light candles for them, the big cats and all in harm's way in Cal and pray.

Bob Cats and Mountain Lions along with other wild life are trapped in this horrible conflagration.

A lot of the wildlife can get out of the way, they seem to sense the danger far in advance. But every time I see these wildfires, that is what I think about. The poor animals. Lets pray that the hurricane that is on the west coast, sends some much needed rain up that way. (A weakened hurricane that is).

Im not in socal, im in cencal but I have two friends heading that way for school. I dont think the fires are in their area, UCLA and UC Irvine? I hope not. My prayers are with our firefighters and any animals or people in that area. A year or so ago I heard horrific stories of people leaving their horses, because where do you take your horse if you have no where to go? Some Fresno firefighters are on their way there i believe.

Adding my prayers to yours & CBKLV's
The Canadians have sent 2 SuperScooper air tankers
I do feel for the bobcats and mountain lions, as well. Their habitat is already so encroached upon. I hope that these fires discourage the continued building into fire country - I think that Mother Nature is telling us that California has had enough already.

I was in So Cal yesterday and I took pictures of teh smoke from the freeway.
It is so sad.
We also had a fire in Auburn.
That was on the news all night live on KCRA our local station.
People lost all thier pets and 65 houses burned down.
We also hit nother fire around Tulare yesterday.
I hope they can save the wild animals and the fires are out soon.
Please pray for rain.
