Hello, well Suma's kittens are 2 weeks old today and have a list of people that want to adopt!!! So hopefully don't need to take any to SPCA or other shelter

Anyway, my questions tonight are the following:

1. Momma cat has quite the appetite, but I guess feeding six babies no wonder. I feed her water, kitten chow, a can of wet food morning, a bowl of Kitten Replacement Milk in the morning. At night another can of wet food and a bowl of kitten replacement milk. Everything is usually gone (except water and a little bit of the dry food). How long should I keep up this healthy feeding for her??

2. 3 of the kittens only have 1 eye open, and 1 still shut with a little crusty stuff. Today I took a warm washcloth and gently tried to wipe the crust away. Suma left me do it and then she washed where it was wet. I think one of the 2 opened the 2nd eye. Should I continue this each day, or call the vet?

Thanks again!!! Here is a pic of Suma and her kittens (week 2)!

She looks so content with her babies!! They look so fluffy and healthy, I am soooo jealous!

I miss having kittens so bad, but soon my breeding program will begin and I will be swimming in kittens LOL

I think you're feeding is great and I would keep it up for at least a couple more weeks. At that time, the kittens will be starting to eat real food and less from her, so she won't need as much.

Good luck with them in the coming weeks!

Looks like it's going well. Feed her as much as she'll eat, until the kittens are weaned.

And yes, do try to keep the eyes clean. Water is OK, but Opticlear solution is a better choice. It is sterile and contains some anti-bacterial elements.
