Introducing kittens to resident dogs

Ok, so I have 10 cats and 3 dogs. I also at the moment have 4 foster kittens, their mom, and a single foster kitten, who I will be keeping. The kittens and mom are all UTD on shots, deflead, dewormed, etc. They live in my spare room, with plenty of playtime out of the room with all my cats, where they have total run of the top floor. When the kittens are out, my 3 dogs are gated in the family room downstairs. Now I would like to get my fosters aquainted with dogs, and I need to get the one I'm keeping aquainted with them. I've never had much of an issue, as I have 10 cats and all get along great with the dogs. But these guys just hiss and spit and won't go near the dogs.
Ok, on to my question. I have my golden retrievers old dog crate. Could I set that up with a litter box and some food and water and put the kittens in there for an hour or so each evening? Just so they're forced to be around the dogs but they'll be safely behind the wire bars?

We recently introduced our resident dog to Gucci. The first night was mayhem. We put the cat in my brother's room. Our dog knew the cat was in there and was very anxious to see her. We didn't think it'd work - but the next morning, we let the dog in, made him sit down, and slowly let the cat approach him. Honestly, it was love at first sight!

My suggestion is, let the dogs greet the cats. Leave them in the room together, but monitor them. Make sure the dogs do not hurt the cats and the cats do not hurt the dogs. Do this for about 20 minutes each day (if they are nice to one another) in the evening and see if all goes well. Or, you can do what you suggested.
