New to forum. new country, new kitties!

Hi all,

I'm Julie, originally from the UK, married with 4 kids. we have just moved to Manila Philippines, we were living in Geneva, Switzerland before.

We were considering getting a kitty in Geneva, but when moving was suggested we decided to wait.

Well, now we're in Manila where cats are considered to be like vermin and way too many are abandoned, mistreated or even eaten. We have found a wonderful shelter run by volunteers, and we are going to pick out our kitties this weekend. The head of the shelter has recommended us for sibling kittens so we will be getting at least 2!!!!! they have so many kitties there it will surely be a hard choice!

i am also going to discuss volunteering at the shelter as they are totally dependent on volunteers, and i am not working since we moved.

Can you tell I'm excited?!

I don't know you but , I love the intent.
I am 48 from Canada...have four furry babies and volunteer two days a week at our no-cage,no-kill shelter.

I'm sure the move to Manila was a big shock, after Geneva.

I lived for a year in Collonges-sous-Saleve, on the French side of the border from Geneva.
