email change trouble

The other day I came in after a long absence. I couldn't find or remember my old user name or password so I registered as a new member.

I did not receive the confirmation e mail, so I became impatient and looked harder for my old user name and password in my papers, and found it.

Since then I've been happily posting away. This morning two things happened. I finally got a confirmation e mail for the other user name, and I realized I needed to update my email address because when I joined, about a year and a half ago, I had a different computer and different e mail.

so..I went to change my e mail address. And was told that that email is already in use so I can't use it.

That email, of course is being used from when I registered the other day. I actually prefer the new user name, but now have already established myself under "otto" and have even been given two gifts! so don't want to start over.

So..if anyone is still following this...what can I do? Can I get the new account removed, so I can update my email address?

haha, you fresh thing! Yours wasn't the first anyway, but I was about to PM you and thank you! So consider yourself thanked!

What would you do? Would you just go with the new name even though having 30 posts already under the old?

Hopefully a mod will be able to help with this. I know forum owners can go in and make changes such as user name changes, but I am not asking to do that (though I would like it) I just want the other account deleted so I can update my email address.

I can do it, but I need either your original username or the email you used and need re-applied to this account. Please send me a private message with the email - thank you
