You know, there are those days you wake up to something that reminds you of all the goodness that's out there in the world... Today it was one of those days!
As you probably know, Bugsy has gingivitis, and eventually will need an aggressive treatment/surgery... Well, since I can't afford this treatment right now, I am keeping him from having surgery with a natural supplement approach under close vet supervision. He has been doing very well, and went from "needing surgery in a couple of weeks", to will need surgery eventually.
This "eventually", can happen at any time...
Anyways, as you probably also know, I have a website for me and the kitties - mainly for the kitties - and in it there is a donation button for Bugsy's treatment. I put this in there not expecting much, besides from my family....... but today, for my amazement, I woke up to a donation all the way from Africa!
It was a small donation, but nonetheless!!!!
This and all other donations will go into his treatment savings account, and hopefully soon I will be able to treat my boy and have him 100%!!
I do spend a lot with his supplements and vet visits, but I will not use this $$$ for this regular cost.... It will go to his dentist fund.
This lady just amazed me so much.... She doesn't know me at all... and she donated to treat my baby!
There is a lot of good in human kind!!!!!

There are still good people in this world

Our local Christian radio station started a RAK where you print out a flyer and pay for the person behind you in line (started as a drive thru thing, but expanded to other ways). You pay for the person, hand the cashier the money, tell them what you are doing and ask that they pass that flyer to the car behind you that you paid for.

In one call to the radio station, the cashier told them that the one paper was passed to her 3 or 4 times in a row! The one that started it, the next person thought it was cool and did the same thing for the one behind him.....lol

The best I received , was in a drive thru and Tim Hortons. I was having a horrible day, I was almost at the point of crying. The lady in front of me paid for my coffee. I have no idea who she was, but it felt like the best hug you could get. I have done it several times since then. Always to someone that looks like they really need a hug.

That is the exact point of RAOK.... No asking for it, no anything.... and someone just feels like being kind for no reason whatsoever. I've found the ones that need it the most, are like you've said, ones that look like they could use a hug over ones that whine and do the "poor me" routine.

A little truly goes a long way. I know I've been blessed with kindness that came out of the blue, and I will never forget it.
and do my best when I can, to keep it going.

This world, today's society, needs more people who are kind, not because they were asked, but because they wanted to be.

Wow! That's awesome! I know how much an aggressive dental with extractions is. Is that what he needs or is it some other type of surgery? How much is it?

Yep - that's what he might need... full mouth extraction... however:
The dentist he was referred to by his vet, has developed a treatment that has been shown very successful, without surgery - hopefully now, that he is doing well, we will be able to do this. It still costs about $600 for the tests, initial procedures and meds. Then there is the monthly cost - but that would be ok.

If this doesn't work, then surgery it is. The initial cost is about the same, provided that he doesn't have any complications... I need a minimum of $600, and if he needs surgery I am planning for $800...

That's exactly what this lady did - She lives all the way in Africa, I never saw, spoke, or asked her for anything. I certainly do not see my page as a "poor me" page at all. Many many many sites have donation buttons for no reason at all - a very famous cat blog site is an example, but I thought if is for me to ever put a donation button in there, it better be for a good cause.
So, kuddos for this lady who indeed gave me the best hug anybody could give me today. She did this to a person who she has NO IDEA who it is - no questions asked.
There are a lot o people who say this and that, but we need molre people who actually do it... like her.

Thank you Rigel

That's how I was this morning... It was not about the money... it could be a dollar, you know? It was really about her act of faith into helping an animal in the other side of the world... The act of helping someone who she had never ever ever even heard of! That to me was just amazing... She must be a truly wonderful person!

First of all, the lady from Africa was extremely kind and giving...not many would donate to someone they don't know online. I know I never have, and that's the cynic in me.

I like the flyer thing...very cool!

As a side not to you Carolina...in case the treatment doesn't work out, honestly the full extraction isn't as bad as you might think. My JinJin ended up with a full extraction. Her teeth were just too bad after a lifetime of living on the streets. In all honesty, after a few days recovery, you've never seen a happier kitty! She was pain free for the first time in a long time, and she really has no trouble eating whatever she chooses. I just wanted to let you know that in case it ends up that way.

Thank you!!! Yes, that does make me feel better... I will try the treatment first though - then if that doesn't work we move on to "bigger things"!
Right now he is fine, and watched very closely - doesn't seem to be in much pain, but again, you never know... one thing is for sure - supplements do work!
