My Lucy died from a Leukemia shot 8 years ago today.
I will never give that shot again and still feel guilty about it even though it has been 8 years.
She died on the way to the er vet and it was proven that the shot caused her to die.
Everyone needs to be careful.

I'm so sorry Jacky. RIP Lucy.

Not a vaccine I would ever give, or recommend. Sorry you had to go through that
Please don't feel guilty, you didn't know and probably thought you were doing the right thing.

Please don't blame yourself, you were trying to protect her not kill her. With the information that was availiable to you at that time you did what seemed to be the best thing for her. I'm sorry it turned out so badly.

Thanks Everyone,
Coco and Meeko had that shot before Lucy died.
None of my cats get that shot anymore and will never get it again.

That's sad
But obviously you were doing the best you could figure out how to do.

I do still think that it's important for outdoor cats to get shots because if they're around other cats it's so easy for them to catch something serious. I won't get my cats any shots I don't agree with, though, and I don't think they need most of what's available because they're entirely indoor. (They've had rabies shots for legal reasons, but I agreed with that because there's always the chance of a mouse chewing through the wall and biting them.)

Thanks Everyone,
Coco and Meeko used to get that shot.
Meeko has not had it since age 2 and she is 9 now.
Coco was 10 when she last had that shot and is she is 17.5 now.
It is even in the breeders contracts never to give certain shots or the contract becomes void.
