For the past year or so Jeta and Zara have been my only raw eaters. Coco has always been willing to nibble a bit but I've never been able to get her to eat a meals worth of raw. Toby won't even taste it.

Every once in a while I try giving Jeta and Zara something different from their standard chicken, turkey, beef and game hen. A few days ago I got them some Rad Cat Lamb which is a pre-made raw, complete food. I've never tried lamb before because I've read so many times about how it is more difficult for them to digest than other meat sources. Zara and Jeta both loved it and didn't have any digestion problems with it.

As usual I gave a bit to Coco to see if she would like it. She *loved* it! I didn't get too excited because I know how fickle she is. She may eat a small amount of something and never touch it again. Well, I gave her a little bit more and then a little more and she ate it all! Next meal time I gave her a full meals worth and she every bit! Next meal time, same thing. At the next meal, not wanting her to get tired of lamb, I gave her some turkey. She all of it!

She's had nothing but raw for the last 5 meals and she seems to be loving it! She polishes off the lamb in literally a matter of seconds!

The Rad Cat is expensive but I'm willing to buy it for her if that is all she'll eat.
From the ingredients list I have a pretty good idea what the recipe is and I might be able to duplicate it at a far lower cost.

I probably should have waited for a few more days to be sure she keeps eating it but I wanted to share! I'm hopeful that a raw diet will mean she won't need the digestive enzyme supplement she has needed for the last 3 years to prevent loose stools.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

That's great!!!

I know it is expensive, but at least if all 3 of them will eat it you could probably get the largest size. If you get the case of 12 you know they will give a 10% discount, if it ends up you can't make it yourself.

Kody is still just a chicken eater. Every once in a while I can give him an ounce of the lamb and he will wolf it down. But then the next time he will walk away. They were nice enough to give me several of the little 1 oz. samples of the lamb so I can keep trying for a while.

Coco is the only one I'm giving the Rad Cat to. As long as Jeta and Zara are content with my home brew I'll give that to them although I might get more of the Rad Cat lamb for them.

She hasn't gotten any of the supplement since starting the raw and judging by the litter box contents all is well.

Day 3 and counting...

That's a nice break-through for you. I know you're happy. Good job, to both of you!

Let's all hope Ms. Picky stays the course.

Coco has been eating raw for 1 week now so i think it's official, she's a raw eatin' kitty! Yeah!

I'm still giving her mostly the Rad Cat. I haven't wanted to jinx it by trying to get her to eat what Jeta and Zara are eating but that's the next step. Tonight after eating her Rad Cat turkey I gave her a bit of J & Z's beef and she scarfed it up!

I priced lamb at a near by market and it was $5.60 a lb bone in and $7 a lb bone out. After added the organs it would cost me as much to make it as the Rad Cat costs. If I can get her to eat my home brew chicken and turkey maybe I'll still get the Rad Cat lamb since she likes it so much.

Anyway, it's looking good!

Oh yeah, her stool still looks good too!

Three of my kitties eat the RadCat turkey and one won't touch it. They won't touch either the chicken or lamb flavors. I wish they would for the variety. Maybe oneday my one holdout will suffer a sea change and start eating it, but I won't hold my breath!

That is wonderful news, indeed, Mschauer. Yay!

That lamb is expensive, though. *whew!* Hopefully, it won't be much longer before she's eating the same foods Jeta and Zara eat.
