Can Kittens be too tired to eat or do anything for that matter?

I already had a post about my kitten and being worried about him however today a new concern has come up and unfortunately, I don't have the ability to contact my vet at this hour.

He has been okay for the most part of the day, actually having hard time getting him to take a nap. He was eating, playing, being rotten, etc. We left to go into town around 3:30 and got back around 5:00 which was about his feeding time. He seemed really sleepy and wasn't interested in eating at all.

It is now 9:18 pm and the last time he ate was about 1:30ish. He has been really tired, I mean VERY tired.

I'm afraid something is wrong with him but I am also wondering if he could just be really tired because he was up literally all morning long and seemed like he wanted to play and was fighting his "cat naps."

I just don't know how a kitten would go from being perfectly fine and in the span of 3 hours be sick?

I've been worried sick that there is something wrong with him based on the fact that he is so lethargic and will not eat.

Please if anyone has any suggestions let me know.

ETA: from about 9 this morning to before we left at 3:30 he was up basically this whole time.

It's possible that his blood sugar has dropped too low, burning off calories from all the activity. Try rubbing a little karo syrup on his gums. Even if he doesn't lick it off and swallow it, some will be absorbed. That may give him a little more energy to start eating. You may also have to force feed one or two feedings to get him going again.

If he doesn't perk up soon, even with you trying to wake him up, I would advise you to take him to an emergency vet - kittens can go down very fast, and being lethargic is NOT normal.

Thank you.

I took him to an emergency vet last night and left him over night. He wasn't doing very well.

Around 5:45 am the vet called me and let me know he passed away.

My husband and I are not doing very well as this downturn was so unexpected. I don't know where we went wrong but I want my little guy back. We're so confused as to how he could be a normal playing little guy with lots of energy and less than 12 hours later he's gone.

I thank everyone for their help with answering all my questions.
