I've got an appointment for my new cat Ruby to see the vet Monday afternoon.
I took her to the vet that I work for right after I picked her up and she said she was fine etc. but now I'm taking her to my regular vet because she needs a dental and she's been sounding a little stuffy and she's got a heart murmer. So I just want his opinion on everything (I trust him 100%, more so than the other vet I saw). She's got mats that she won't let me clip (ARGH!) and she's been pulling them out so I know they're bothering her. My thought is that if she gets a dental she can be clipped while she's under.
The Humane Society that I adopted her from told me she might be bad with men, so I'm nervous that she's gonna go crazy kitty on the vet (she's a biter). I'm worried about the price of everything (it should be too bad but I just got my monthly order of pet food so this weeks pay check is already just about gone), and worried that he won't want to put her under because of her heart and she's older. And I'm worried that if she does get scheduled for a dental that something will go wrong and I'll have killed her.

None of us can predict or control the future - but every action you're taking is done from love for Ruby. Best wishes for a very happy outcome. Have you told the vet Ruby may be afraid of men? That might help when they're working with her. My little girl is terrified of the vets, although really nothing bad has happened to her there since I've had her - they know she's nervous, and they're so patient with her.

I havent told him that she might have issues with men, I will when I get there though. All my other boys are so good at the vets that if she misbehaves I'll be so embarrassed!
My dog gets nervous at the vets (traveling stresses him out) and my vet is fantastic with him, really slow and he spends time just talking to me so my dog can check him out.
