for dinner. Should I have Bison, Elk or Quail? LOL.
Yikes! It looks wonderful, but a tad rich for my pocket! Bon appetit!

For us, party food. We have a 50th Birthday Bash to go to. Should be fun and I'm expecting the food to be excellent, too.

First time I've ever been there. It's my in-laws' 55th anniversary tonight!

Well gee if the cats like it then it must be good!

I like bison, never tried quail. I've had quail's eggs which were extremely tasty! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful dinner- The Fort looks like a real treat!

Tonight I'm making green shelled mussels and calamari in tomatoes. I think I'll cook up some pasta to go with.

We had a fish stew. I made it with mussels, shrimp and tilapia. As I side, I toasted some French baguette and we had a baby green salad.

Lasagna and a green salad, only way to feed all the company. Gonna add spinach to the pasta to fill it out and my mom likes it that way.

Hmm that sounds good, I have had fish stew in ages. Looks like a good idea for dinner tomorrow evening.

I have decided on pasta tonight with a nice seafood alferdo to go along with it.
Also some garlic bread and a garden salad. For dessert most likely just a peach or two.

Well, I didn't get to do a "Friday Night Dinner" last night, since we were at a Big 5-Oh Bash, tastefully catered by the Lazy Gourmet. A definite yum. Not to mention that a good time was had by all.

So tonight, I think I'm going to do Friday, though maybe scaled back just a tad. It's too warm for the oven, or I'd do Yosemite Chicken, which we have not had for a while. So, instead, the bird will go on the grill. The beans are coming on like gangbusters again, so we'll have some of those, and because I totally forgot, while I was out this afternoon, to get nugget potatoes, it will be Jasmine Rice. I did not, however, forget to get other stuff, including rather lovely looking cherries. So, we'll stuff our faces with those for dessert.

Yes, well..."The best laid schemes o' Mice an' Men, gang aft agley."

After I posted that, and finished up the laundry, I went upstairs to finish making the grape jelly I started the other night. This being a new culinary endeavour, I decided not to try to finish it up on Thursday when I got home rather later than expected and with a somewhat fried brain. Good thing, as I would have been beside myself if the events of today had played out at midnight on Thursday. Suffice to say that the first attempt is not likely to have been successful -- we'll know more in the morning -- and that by the time I had done what I set out to do and cleaned up after it, I was beyond POed and feeling fairly incompetent, and needing someone else to cook dinner. So I said as much to Rob, and his response was, "Where would you like to go?" "Cheese'll be fine -- doesn't need to be fancy." "When do you want to go?" "Now would be good." "Ok, I'll put some street clothes on."

The Prime Rib was good. So was the cheesecake. I feel better.
