Now, I know his is some sort of scam, but the details of it are creepy.

The subject line of the email is mine and my husbands name...AND the email was sent to BOTH my email accounts.

I obviously am familiar with spam, but I don't know how they know my husbands name and how the heck they got both my email addresses??

It's from the same sender to both of my email accounts. One email account at gmail, and the other at live.

Any ideas? I am creeped out.

(I haven't opened the email at all..just see it in my inboxes)

I got one last week using my TCS e-mail address.

It was from UPS telling me that someone had tried to send me a parcel but i wasn't in and to get in touch with them. There was an attachment which i never open anyway, plus my virus checker popped up asking was i sure it was safe?!.

When i posted in the Mod lounge about it i was told it was possibly some robot just generating random sets of characters with my TCS address and it got "lucky" and generated a real username.

Just bin it, especially if theres an attachment because Fran(Rapunzel) did a search on Snopes and the the one i had contained a virus!

Yep. Anytime you give your email address to a company, it gets into a database and can be harvested by bots. Utility companies, banks, rental companies, basically anywhere.

I changed my bank card a couple weeks ago to one that has a chip and is more secure. They asked for an email address. I gave them what I consider to be my "spam email account" which is my very first hotmail account from 2000, and gets loads and loads of spam.

Yup, there are these "bots" running around trying to get lucky. You should have seen how much email I started to get after posting on Craigslist.

I found it funny that one set of newsletters from magazines were for pregnant women.
I don't think so. I just unsubscribe from them all.

Today, I got one about the Chevy 230 and I went to unsubscribe from GM. It asked me for a whole lot of info, like my name and address, to unsubscribe. I have never seen that in an unsubscribe before and it made me
So, unless I start getting a slew of GM emails, I am just going to trash them. They don't get my personal info through an unsubscribe.
