Question Of The Day - Wednesday, August 12th!

Good morning! I have to work today, so I'm posting this a little early.


Today's question of the day...


What are your favorite sounds?


I love the sound of a cat purring. I also love the sound of windchimes in a breeze. The sound of a gentle rain, and the night sounds of the woods are very comforting to me also.

Rain, a rare sound around here.

My kitties purring, the crows at my grandma's house cawing. Brings back very fond memories of living in NJ and all the times I spent at my grandma's.

I use to like the sound of rain as well until this summer now I am pretty tired of it.

I guess I would have to say, sitting on my deck listening to the frogs, and whip-er-wills in the evening.

Love the sound of wind chimes; I probably have 15 sets hanging around my yard.

My 2 sister kitties have a strange very high pitched "meow" that I love.

I love to answer the phone and hear, "Hi hon, I'm on my way home."

Love the sound of a storm rolling in.

Does anyone not like the sound of kitties purring?
I like the sounds of the birds, especially chickadees as they're so cute. The crows are a little unpleasant though, especially early in the morning. I like hearing water, either a running stream or the waves of the ocean. Don't get to hear that very often anymore though.

Of course the morning purring of boths kiddos asking for food nex to your face!...
...
But also, too
-The sea sound of the waves
-The Crickets on a moonlight night of summer!
-The chirps of the birds on my backyard!
- & the sound of the silence to try to meditate and leave the mind in blanck my friend!...

Besides the sound of my kitties purring:

Ocean waves breaking on the shore
Rain and also thunder as long as I am inside. I love to watch lightning.
The wind blowing through the trees in the forest.
The first song of a bird early on a spring morning.

... Plus I forgot to say the sound of a can opened and the kittys came running saying "Meow, Meow" because they know is their wet food!... priceless!...

I love the sound of people laughing
I love the sounds of kids playing
I love cats purring
I love the sound of waves on the lake
I love the sound of bird chirping
I love the sound of rain

The rain on the conservatory roof

The kids purring

The wood pigeons

And silence!!

Cows mooing. The sound of a cruise ship moving through the ocean, the waves crashing against the hull. Peepers (those little frogs that make noise at night). When little kids get that deep belly laugh going. ReeRee when he screams at me. Beethoven (there is a particular one but I don't know the name) Beer can opening. Thunderstorm.

I love the sound of...
thunderstorms during the summer
the treat can shaking and fatman running down the hallway
my cats purring in bed together before falling asleep
a freshly bought nora roberts book being opened for the first time!

- My kids or family laughing
- happiness in other people's voices
- kitties purring or mewing for lovin's
- nature sounds (birds chirping, water, rain etc.)
- my relaxation cd's

rain
the call of a mourning dove
the call of a loon on a quiet lake at night

For those who love the sounds of windchimes, remember you do have neighbors, and they may not like them all so much. The beautiful tinkling sounds of a chime in the wind can become quickly annoying when someone has a dozen or so, and you are a person who likes to hear nature, the birds singing, the bugs bugging, not the constant unrelenting tinkle tinkley ding ding tinkly sounds of the chimes.
I love the sounds of distant thunder, if you are on a lake, all the better, it rumbles an rumbles on and on.
I love the sound of snow. Gently falling it blankets the land with a quiet, so it really has no sound.

Imagine being on a deserted island with the sounds of the sea. It is dark so you can concentrate on the rythem of the waves.

The nickering of the horses at feeding time.
The birds in the morning - with the exception of the 3AM robin and the blasted sparrows. I have warblers and thrushes on the yard so it sounds very nice early in the morning.
The deep purr of Da Lip when he cuddles, and the purrs of all the cats.
The roar of the combine in the fall

Me too!

I love the sound of crickets at night in the summertime.
Wind chimes.
Kitty's purring (of course!)
The sounds of outdoors.

I love hearing these sounds:

Arwen when she mews quietly at me,
Waves crashing on the shore down at the beach,
Wind rushing through the trees in my back garden,
Rainfalls, especially at night when it's quiet and also during the day if I'm home alone. It's just a wonderful sound to me, I can sit and listen to it for ages.
