First off I am switching Pixel's food today, I will slowly introduce Nupro or Iams in her diet, much better then Wiskas.

Anyway, we are going to get a kitten soon, and since Pixel is about 1 year old, she eats adult food, the new kitten will need Kitten food. How do I make sure Pixel doesn't eat kitten food and vise versa?

You you can always feed them in separate areas if you are concerned. I wouldn't free feed though, I would leave dry down for about 20 minutes and canned down for 10. Depending on the age of your kitten, Kittens are really fed on demand, as they are coming off nursing, and moms teats are available whenever they want so in order to maintain that high beed for nutrition, the feedings should be supervised. As my vet loves to tell new cat owners, you feed the cat, not the bowl. If you see Pixel chowing down on kitten food, just increase Pixel play time and activity level- though I am sure the kitten will help in that department a lot.
