I just saw an ad for a Da Bird toy and was wondering if it is worth it? Does anyone have one, what is your experience with it?

Also where can I get one in Canada if it is a good buy?

Da Bird is the BEST toy! Almost all cats love it, and it has gotten the laziest cat off their butts for a play. I use for socialising shy/semi-feral cats and it works wonders

When Isis plays with Da Bird, I watch her closely because she goes nuts.

I don't want her to slam into something that will hurt her.

I think that Da Bird and a Laser toy are essential to any cat's exercise program.

Da Bird is the only toy we have that has to get locked up when we aren't playing with it because the cats WILL hunt it down and "kill" it.

Get one, you will not regret it - but make sure you get extra feather attachments!

I agree! Chynna absolutely loves it! Abby too, but she's such a fraidy cat that she waits to pounce on it once it's stopped and on the ground not moving!

I've never met a cat that didn't LOVE Da Bird. Evey my Harvey
, who never played with any toys, would give in and chase Da Bird.

And, yeah, stock up on those extra attachments, especially if you've got a little roughie like my Forest.

My cats loved Da Bird. I did not pay a bunch for it thou. I just bought the end part and made my own wand.

My cats LOVE Da Bird, they love it way too much and will destroy it if not supervised closely. Of course since I have bengals that is a given.

The only toy a bengal can't annihilate is a brick on a chain.

But do get da bird, your cat will love it.

PetsMart carriers them, plus the replacement feathers.

And yes, they are worth the money.

The only negative I've found is with the one that has the 2 piece pole.... It bends then ends up falling apart from time to time...(nothing a little duct tape won't fix but if you can find the one with the solid pole, I'd go for that one)

I always get refills in bulk

I try not to let the cats catch it too much, as it doesn't last long.

Da Bird is probably the most expensive "fishing pole" toy you can buy, but it's so worth it. I think I paid $10 for the pole with 1 attachment, and refill attachments are about $5-6 each. Mine also came in 2 parts, but I know you can get a 1-piece pole online. I taped mine together because once my cats grab hold, there's no way that pole is staying together.

Even my shy cats that don't like to play around the other cats will come out when they hear it whipping through the air!

Yeah, that's about all that needs to be said. The interest in other toys may come and go Da Bird is Da Best.

Thanks for all your replies...it looks like Geoffery and Luca will soon have a new toy!!

Do you think I need one for each of them or just one to share?

One to share because they cannot play with it by themselves....
put it in a safe place, where they cannot get to it, between play sessions.
You are going to have tons of fun.
