What are your favorite reliable foods...the kind that make you feel a little better if you're having a bad day or the kind that make you feel at home.
For me, it's:
Bacon, Eggs, and Toast
Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes
Grilled cheese sandwiches
Homemade vegetable soup
Rice - I fix it all the time, sometimes even in the middle of the night.

Over the river and through the woods...
As strange as it sounds, when I'm feeling down I make Ramen noodles (oriental flavor) and mix in shredded chedder cheese and tuna fish. Instant tuna casserole. Or I make mashed potatoes (lots of butter, pepper and garlic salt).

Grilled cheese is always a favorite, with tomato soup or spagettioes.

Wishing I were anywhere but here
My comfort food is usually Korean food, chips and salsa or german food. The first two are because I love both but can easily pick them up anywhere. The third one I normally have to make it.

Egg noodles, with lots of butter, and pepper. Lots of pepper. If I am feeling fancy, a bit of garlic and parmesian cheese.

True dat, lol.
Comfort food holds a special place in your heart though. Like a big hug in food form. I can eat a plate of fish and veggies and feel just great, but give me a plate of fried chicken and some good homemade mac and cheese, whole diferent ballgame.

Soup makes me feel good. Also mashed potatoes. I guess I like soft foods for comfort foods..

Or my mom's potato salad, I don't like other potato salads, just hers.

Comfort food = anything involving baked pasta or anything involving lots of gravy.

Gotcha. My mom's broccoli casserole, fresh from the oven AND her homemade strawberry pie, no other pie, strawberry or not will do. I don't like cake, I don't like pie either except this one exception.
These things can melt a bad day into pure bliss!
