Our older cat Tiki amazingly toloerate the kitten eats from her bowl, but sometimes will still raise a paw and strike the kitten. I saw her chasing the kitten last night. Not sure if they are playing, or Tiki still doesn't like the kitten?

It sounds as if Tiki is just showing the baby whos boss in the house. There's usually quite a bit of hissing, growling, and attacking when they are fighting.

diesel used to do that to bobbie when we first got her
she was at most an 8th his size
even if she wasn't looking at him
or looking threatening
he would just bat her with his paw
especially around the food bowl

in fact when they got a bit closer
he would take a running start from the end of the corridor and run her off the food bowl
not really playing
just sort of exerting his kitty power

i wouldn't worry too much
especially if there's no hissing

Yea, if there's no hissing, no fur flying, and no blood shed then there's usually nothing to worry about. Niko does this to Isis quite frequently. She seems to enjoy bopping the baby on the head when the baby tries to throw her own weight around. (But Niko has at least 17 pounds on Isis, so it just doesn't work.)
