Hi! I'm Cathy & have recently adopted a stray kitty! I first started hearing him in the tall weeds around our porch a couple of months ago.
For the longest time I would hear him meow very loudly & insistantly whenever I'd step outdoors. After a week or so of meowing back at him, he would finally come to the edge of the growth & he was SO little! I didn't figure he would survive on his hunting skills, so I started feeding him kibble.
Long story short, he's now very friendly, sweet, happy & healthy & I've started feeding him a raw diet which he took to very well
He remains outdoors becuz I'm afraid my big dog will do him great harm. But I've had him into the vet twice for shots & he's been treated for fleas & now I'm just waiting to neuter him. He weighed just over a pound the first visit & 3 lbs last week when I took him in.
Just before this little guy, Ben, showed up, I had to put one of my 2 16 yr old indoor cats to rest, but the other is doing real well. I've never had an outdoor cat before & don't know how it's all going to work out. Maybe when he's older & bigger I'll bring him in - even tho I SWORE I'd NEVER have another cat! Eh, the best laid plans, huh?
Looking forward to reading more & getting to know everyone better

I sure hope that Ben does as well, but I do worry about him living outdoors. We had a terrible thunder storm with lots of wind & rain through the nite & now I've not seen him this AM - he usually comes running as fast as he can when he hears me calling. I'm praying he's OK & will show up to eat soon.
