Hi! I'm Cathy & have recently adopted a stray kitty! I first started hearing him in the tall weeds around our porch a couple of months ago.
For the longest time I would hear him meow very loudly & insistantly whenever I'd step outdoors. After a week or so of meowing back at him, he would finally come to the edge of the growth & he was SO little! I didn't figure he would survive on his hunting skills, so I started feeding him kibble.
Long story short, he's now very friendly, sweet, happy & healthy & I've started feeding him a raw diet which he took to very well

He remains outdoors becuz I'm afraid my big dog will do him great harm. But I've had him into the vet twice for shots & he's been treated for fleas & now I'm just waiting to neuter him. He weighed just over a pound the first visit & 3 lbs last week when I took him in.

Just before this little guy, Ben, showed up, I had to put one of my 2 16 yr old indoor cats to rest, but the other is doing real well. I've never had an outdoor cat before & don't know how it's all going to work out. Maybe when he's older & bigger I'll bring him in - even tho I SWORE I'd NEVER have another cat! Eh, the best laid plans, huh?

Looking forward to reading more & getting to know everyone better

Welcome to our community of caring people who love cats Cathy.

I am sorry about the loss of your two senior kitties.

Letting them go can be so hard.

Your new sweetie Ben, sounds adorable.
Please make yourself at home.

Thank you for the welcomes! And for the condolances
However, I still have 1 of my senior cats with me, 16 year old Cuddles is doing very well! It was her sister Teddy that we recently lost, & we miss her terribly - after that long a time they really, REALLY become a big part of your life.

Hello & welcome to tcs. Blossom was a rescue cat of sorts. My son found her after being dumped at 3 w/o. I too was not going to get another cat & concentrate on my dog. But she worked her way into my heart & will be 3 in Sept.

Thank you!, Thank you!, Thank you everyone!!

Kalikat, WoW! Blossom sure is one very lucky cat to have found her way to your home & into your heart
I sure hope that Ben does as well, but I do worry about him living outdoors. We had a terrible thunder storm with lots of wind & rain through the nite & now I've not seen him this AM - he usually comes running as fast as he can when he hears me calling. I'm praying he's OK & will show up to eat soon.

Hah. Best laid plans... I'm new too. Sorry to hear about your 16yr old. I was just given the option to spend a lot of money, or put my little girl to sleep...$2,108.00 later she is home with me. Best laid plans...I hope your new addition works out well!
