My one year old cat gave birth about a week ago but we still have her one adult cat food ( switching to kitty food in a couple days ) and water ..

I heard from a couple people that we should be giving the mother milk instead of water because it has more nutrition for her.. Is this true?

Depends on the milk you use. Cow's milk is NOT recommended. Go with KMR or Goat's Milk instead and yes, it does help!

Agree. KMR or other brand of kmr=kitten mother substitute milk. And that is what they means when they recommend milk to moms. Containing much good nourishment.

Of diary products:
Goat milk OK yes.
Low lactose milk OK. Youghurt. Cheese. (all these products have a lower lactose niveu than fullmilk).

If you by some reason really must give usual milk, do cook it up first at least. (=boil up). It seems boiled milk is a little better digestible for cats than normal milk.
