"Texting from one cellphone to another is like driving from New York to California, towing your private jet behind you."

Texting is often cheaper though than making a phone call. Plus you don't have to answer straight away. A verbal conversation always takes longer and eats up the minutes.
Having said that, I've only texted a few times in my life!

Actually, on my plan, texting costs a lot more.

I have unlimited texting for people with Verizon, which is most of the people I text. I like texting. I do it way more than I call people. I wish every one texted.

I have seen any number of people texting while driving. I've seen them run red lights, run off the road, run into things. When that happens, I always stop and give a statement to the police.

I NEVER do that. I saw this woman around my age, maybe a little older driving a mini van with her three kids in the back TEXTING, barely looking at the road. I couldn't believe someone could be so stupid.

Phones on the whole while driving are bad, even with the whole bluetooth thing. I was better at driving while HOLDING my phone to talk before California outlawed it, then I tried the hands free thing and it was way more complicated so I don't bother. Not worth the risk. And yeah, texting while driving is just moronic and so so dangerous.

That said, I am a big texter while not in the car. Heh, you know, probably my mom is the one who texts me the most these days actually!

I never used to text, but when I do, I use less time than making an actual call. So it is cheaper for me to text than to make a call. I also like texting because I do not have to talk on the phone, which I hate for the most part. As for the driving while texting, never do it, you will end up killing someone!!

I'm not a huge fan of texting, but I will say sometimes it is quicker than making a phone call. You know sometimes you don't want to spend an hour talking to someone when all you want is to give them a 5 second bit of information. (I know a lot of people that can talk.)
