I have a friend who is going to Creve Coeur, MO in a couple of weeks. (western suburb of St. Louis) and she asked me if I would post a this question for all here. She had arrangements for leaving her kitty with a friend while she was going to be gone, but due to changing circumstances the friend can no longer do this.
They live in New Orleans, and with it being hurricane season she doesn't want to leave Felix at a boarding place in Nola. She is a vetran of Katrina and knows all too well what happened to most pets that were boarded because their owners where on vacation when Katrina hit. Most of these animals did not get evacuated and perished. It was really horrible.
So she is looking for boarding places on their way to Creve Coeur, places that are far enough from the gulf coast not to have to worry about evacuation if a storm builds when they are gone. The people they are visiting have an individual in the household that is extremely allergic to cats and dogs, so having Felix stay with them is not an option on this trip.
So the big question, anyone have any personal recommendations for cat boarding in either Creve Coeur MO (or nearby), Memphis TN, or Jackson MS.
Also has anyone had any personal experiences with the Petsmart Pethotels in these areas. She has read online reviews of these and it seems to be very area dependant on whether the staff is good or not. There is one in Jackson, two in Memphis and one just south west of Creve Coeur.
