But there is no ocean around here. I used to live in San Diego, Florida and Hawaii so was always near the beach. I miss swimming in the ocean.

I was privledged enough to swim in the ocean once.... (for a summer....when I was younger) and want to do it again.

We have lakes with nice beaches.

I prefer lakes/oceans over pools, but sometimes a pool is quite nice because of the stability of the water temp.

I love waves though.

And yup I love to swim.

Can't swim at all!
Never wanted to learn as a child as I had a fear of deep water...and I still do.

Love it!

I'll swim in either the ocean or a pool (or lakes for that matter) but usually around here it's a pool since we don't have any nearby oceans. Lots of lake swimming, though. I love lakes.

Haven't been swimming in eons, but I preferred pools. Less chance of sand in the swimsuit.

I like the pool but I don't like being in natural bodies of water. I get too nervous about "things" touching me in the water

I like to swim in a pool or the beach. I haven't been to the beach in years though. Maybe if its ever warm enough this summer, I will go.

I have not been to the beach or pool in many years, afraid of what the sun does to your body. When I used to go, I preferred the beach and live close to the Jersey Shore. I don't care for pools since most get peed in, I know the ocean gets peed in too but there's a lot more water in the ocean and the waves clean it up :-) I also used to go to a nearby lake and that was nice too. I do prefer the beach tho.

Yep. I like to swim. Since there's a pool right in my backyard, and the only beaches around here are the Lake Michigan ones (which can be cold and icky), I'm going with pool.

Love to swim. Prefer a pool, do you know what fish do in the water? Hint there are a lot of little baby fish
However, we did swim in the ocean last week while we were on vacation.

I love to swim, but that is to swim and do things like the IM, so a pool for me to swim. Beaches for me are to sunbathe or walk along on a beautiful day or a moonlit night.

This question reminds me of how much I miss living by the ocean.

Where I live now it's an hour away and it's not my beach. It's crowded with people that I don't know and probably don't like. Then there's the fact that I don't get around so well in my decline.

Sigh.....but when I was a kid we spent a lot of time at the beach. It was close and free. Mother would take us almost every day. Sand in your suit and a pocket full of shells were mandatory.

The best time to swim IMO was late in the afternoon at high tide. On real hot days we would go after dinner. I remember floating in gentle waves up to my neck. It almost rocked you to sleep.

I miss those days.

I love to swim. I grew up beside a lake. My Mom couldn't keep me out of the water. I like pools too, but I always end up with a stuffy nose after.

I love to swim. Unfortunately the BF doesn't and doesn't swim very well.

I haven't been swimming in about a year.

I also prefer pools because I like to see the bottom of what I am swimming in and I am terrified of fish, frogs, and turtles.

I love to swim. If I could live in the water I would. It doesn't matter to me whether it is pool, lake, river, or ocean. Any of them would do for me.
