I do not own a single cookbook

But I am a good cook, my speciality is my beef stew.
The most I've cooked for is a full Thanksgiving Day spread for 12 people, however, a single batch of my stew (or my chicken and dumplings) would feed 10 easily

I am a decent cook, but not a great one. I can make simple things that taste good but nothing complicated. Not sure I have a specialty but my family back home goes nuts for my lasagna.

I love cooking and like to try out new recipes all the time. However most of the recipes I try come from magazines, or off the Internet. I do have a few cook books but they were my moms, and I also have a notebook that was my grandmothers of handwritten family recipes.
I guess I am a fairly good cook because everyone seems to like what I make.
I suppose my favorite thing to make would be Black Forest Cake.

I think I'm a pretty good cook, and others seem to agree.

I have a lot of cookbooks/recipe books, probably between 80 and 100 -- Some of these were my Dad's and have a lot of his notes in them. I occasionally pick up a recipe from a magazine, more often from the internet -- a great resource.

There's nothing on my shelf that I haven't at least meandered through looking for ideas. On the whole, I am not a recipe cook, though when I try something new, I do it exactly as the recipe says, and THEN I decide whether and what to tinker with and how. I use the books primarily as a reference, not a road map.

Mostly I like to play in the kitchen, and have a willing "guinea pig" in my sweetie. He says my specialty is sauces; I just deglaze the pan with something interesting and add a little cream.
There are some dishes people ask for specifically, but not just one that could be called a specialty.

What's the largest number of people I've cooked for? Hmmmm...not huge...possibly 10?

Hi Rigel!

I'm a pretty good cook - I prefer to cook savoury foods to sweet foods.

I only have two recipe books - they are the same, one is just an updated version.

You can see it here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edmonds_Cookbook

I don't specialise in any particular dish but I do like to make curries/casseroles.

The most amount of people I have cooked for single handedly is two!

There's no place like home
I have an entire cabinet full of cookbooks, plus subscribe to a couple of cooking magazines.

If you judge by the number of people that ask me for my recipes, or ask for second or third helpings, then I'd have to say that most Italian dishes are my specialty - lasagna & manicotti (those get second and third helpings), and I've never once made my Shrimp/Pepper Pasta without someone asking me for the recipe.

The most people that I've ever cooked for was for a benefit dinner for the Humane Society - I think we served about 250 people that night. From my home, I had a family reunion that lasted 5 days where I cooked morning, noon and night for about 40 people. Thank heavens I'm an organized person or I couldn't have pulled it off. And I have thrown parties at my house where I've served about 60 people.

I like to cook. I hate to bake.

I'm an alright cook. Nowhere near my mom's abilities though! My husband prefers my cooking over his mom's, he said. I have a few recipe books that were given to me by my grandma and are from the 40s and 50s, which I think is just cool. I have a few others that are still new from my house warming & wedding shower.

The most people I've fed had been about 8 or 9 when the neighbors came over and my in-laws.

Not "chef" material (but could be with some training), but I have worked as a short order cook, and recieved lots of compliments.

I have ummmmm 20-30 recipe books, plus ones I've put together myself from cut out recipes from magazines.

Everyone seems to enjoy my meatloaf (its a little different than traditional), stuffed pastas and chelsea buns......

The most I've cooked for is under 12, for a family dinner
