I have the traditional live animal trap with a front door release triggered by a plate in the back of the trap. It's fine to use in non-urgent situations and for scared cats that have had human contact but have just been dumped and abandoned and can be calmed quickly.

What I'm looking for is a trap with a collapsible side to 'pinch' the cat against the other side for easy sedation when it is too feral to handle safely by the vet before neutering. I've seen them before but cant find them anywhere now.

My situation is this. I've moved into an upscale neighborhood and am living my worst nightmare. The neighborhood is infested with friendly strays and wild pregnant sick ferals. I have tamed (the friendly strays), neutering 8 males and spaying 3 females so far and have turned my husbands workshop into a cat house for them.
But now I have 3 new very feral pregnant females coming to eat, one of them having 3 small kittens up the street in a shed already (I believe she has birthed another litter in the last couple of days somewhere as she has not shown up to eat). The other two I want spayed before it's too late.

My problem is, I live in a small town with no animal shelters, no rescue groups, no discount vet assistance for ferals or vets that will touch ferals for that matter. The last crazy wild cat I took in for spaying was snared out of the trap and choked until unconscious before they could get close to her. I will never do that again to a cat. That is why I need this special trap where the cat can be simply sedated through the side and no one gets hurt.

Thanks for your help!!!!

Oh yes srrh that just might work! And it also gives me ideas on how I can make a simple cage divider for the trap I already have! Thanks so much I really appreciate the help!
