Should I get a older sphynx kitten or younger kitten

I have not talked to many breeders but there is a sphynx kitten that is almost 8 months old that is show quality.
He is a cream/mink.
He is a big sphynx though so I wonder if they take points off for that.

Males are generally larger than females and I don't think they take points off for that. If he's an alter, they take that into consideration also that his jowls didn't get the chance to fill out like unaltered boys.

He is being altered this week.
I was told he ok for TICA but may be to big to show in CFA.

Up to you really

Nothing has ever been too big over here, but if you think it's a problem them perhaps wait for another cat/kitten.

Has he been shown before? How did he do?

He has not been shown.
My Mentor said he might be to big for CFA.
She has a kitten from the same parents from another litter.

If he's not been shown I think I'd skip him. Sometimes its hard to take an adult cat out in the rings if they have no show experience. Best to start with kittens unless the adult has been in the ring.

He might be fine, he might freak out - you never know.

Cleo was the same age when I first showed her but that was only because we were waiting for her CFA reg.
It is hard finding a good show spynx right now.

I would wait for a kitten if it was me but then again I love kittens and I don't like missing out on that part of their life

I am talking to another breeder in Virginia and she has to females she is going to sow.
One she is keeping and the other I might take.
They will be shown this weekend for the frst time and are 4 months old.
They are more expensive then the other person but they are what I am looking for.

I know are are talking cats. But in dogs, if you are dead set on a solid show prospect an older young adult puppy is a much better prospect than a brand new young puppy, all things being equal in both dogs (both from Ch. parents, both being graded as show prospect from a young age by the breeder, etc.)

I have been talking to a breeder with 4 month old sphynx all night.
She has what I want and will show the cat 2 times before I get her to make sure she likes being shown.

Yea it is.
She is trying to see if one of the judges can deliver the kitten.

How exciting!
What color is the kitten?

They are Tortie and White.
She is keeping one of the girls and I will get the other if she is ok in the ring.
I love both of them.

Thanks,
I do not get to name them but that is ok.

I can't wait to see the pictures!!

Actually you just give them a "call" name for whatever you like using at home, so it doesn't matter if they are registered. Jack's breeder showed him first to be sure he liked it (thought it was nice of her to do so). I kinda wanted her to do it because he would have been almost an adult by the time I could get him to a show.

Jacky I LOVE both of them!! They are very cute... Hard to choose...

Thanks,
I do not get to choose the kitten.
The breeder is going to show them this weekend.
She wants to see how they react.
She will be at the Maryland CFA show this weekend.
Then New York on the 16th.
She is going to see if any of the judges are coming out this way and see if any of them would bring the kitten to the airport.
They were born April 7th.

Over here the breeder usually names the kittens, but my breeder allowed me to name all but one (he was older, so already registered).

Will you know after his weekend, or wait until both shows are over?

I think after this weekend.
Getting her here is the problem.
She is trying to see if any of the judges are coming out this way.
If they are she is going to ask if one of them can bring her.
I like the names of the kittens.

Can you not just fly her to you?
