I mentioned in another thread that I've had a bad day today.

I woke up to another massive headache that was not touched by any med. I've been having terrible massive headaches for 2 weeks or so now.

When I went to use the toilet, it overflowed and my bathroom floor got covered in stuff that was really supposed to be in the toilet if you know what I mean. That took a long, very gross, while to try to clean it all up.

Those weren't the big deal of the day (for me). This was:

After I did the errands I needed to do today, I drove home. I pulled into the underground parking garage. I parked. I thought I put my car in park, and I still might have. Not sure what happened.

All I know is that I got out of the car and all of a sudden my car starts rolling backwards with the door open and CRACK! The door gets pushed way forward by a structural support column/pillar. One of the hinges broke. The door itself looks all messed up and wouldn't close. THe maintenance guy in my building seemed to know a lot about cars and helped me get the door closed without causing more damage so I could drive it to a body shop. I drove it to a body shop my insurance covers - ~$3,000+. My deductible is fortunately only $500, but I'm the kind of person who is extra extra hard on themselves, so I'm beating myself up over the incident.

Anyways, coming back to my apartment when it was all over was somewhat nice. I walked in and immediately Ally and Ollie were happy to see me. I sat down on the couch and Ally hopped up to lie on my lap and Ollie hopped up to cuddle up against my side.

Cheered me up a bit. They're very calming.

It's nice to have "built-in friends," isn't it. I've heard some people regret that their pets can't understand our language, but I'm sure they understand our body language, and Ally and Ollie showed that today.

For what it's worth, I've learned that no matter what you do, you WILL have days like that. In the trucking industry, we know that there are some trips that go sour from the start, and there's just no fixing it. All you can do is deal with it the best you can, and figure the next one will be better.

Yes the little critters do have a way of cheering you up even on the worst of days.

Hopefully your run of bad luck is over for now.

And remember to give those kitties a couple extra treats for being so comforting.
