Hey all i just have a quick question. We are adding another addition to our cat family <in total 3 now.She is an 8 week old kitten we are getting from a friend> and i am a little worried about introducing her to my other 2 < one is a 2 year old female and the other a 1 and a half female> I read somewhere that i should put my two other cats into a room for say half a day or so and let kitty roam around for a bit and get used to the place. Being that its really hot here im a little hesitant to keep my cats in a room that is hotter than the rest of the apartment. Is there any other tips you all could give me that doesnt involve putting my cats into a room for a bit? Or is my above said idea pretty much the best way?

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

You need to keep them seperate at first just in case the kitten has germs.
Then introduce them slowly.
I always put the new kitten in a carrier then let them sniff it.
When Cleo met my girls there was no hising or anything.
Some cats will growl and hiss when they meet.
It is normal.
Can you put the kitten in the bathroom?

i could do that....actually thats a good idea. Just leave a litter box and food and water and it should be cool enough. i only worry that i may traumatize the kitty by leaving her alone lol.

Visit the kitten often, but keep her separate until she has been checked by the vet and is calm around you. There are other threads here on how to do the slow introduction. You want her to get used to the smell of the other cats, and they to hers.
Thank you Mrblanche for that info
The vet check up will have to wait as i work construction and am going through a drawn out lien process with the people we were building the house for. So my girlfriend is the only money maker and money is tighter than normal
