Hi everyone:
I just wanted to put a brief intro out there -

I'm Wasabipea and I have two kitties at the moment, their given names are Lenny and Cleo - but they've grown accustomed to their nicknames Monster and Roni.

Lenmonster is a shelter adpotee and Roni was a stray. They have both lived with me since they were about 5 months old - and 13 years later they are still my buddies.

I recently stumbled across this site because I was online doing some reading on feline CRF - I think my little girl is about to be diagnosed early stage. I'm praying it's just kidney stones of the dissolvable sort, I'll know more tomorrow. So anyway, I've been making my way through the very informative and supportive CRF thread and I've learned a lot already - however I'm still really overwhelmed, so sad and feeling incredibly helpless and gulity. She's so little and has always been the fragile type, but very sweet and loving.

So, that's where we're at. Just wanted to say hi and this is me, in case you see me out and about posting questions and stories, too!
Thanks and hi again!

I'll try to link to some pics over the weekend, I love showing off my cuties.

Welcome to TCS.
If you have any questions about CRF let me know.
Coco my 17 year old cat has it.
Kidney Stones in cats are not easy to treat.
My Yoshi died from them because they could not be removed at age 5.
My Coco had bladder stones wich were disolved with food.
There are alot of treatments for CRF.
I can give you advice on the treatments.

Haha, I am having a rough Friday morning apparently, I just could not read your user name for about a minute before finally seeing and thinking "OHHHHH, Wasabi Pea! I get it!"
I get those slow moments now and then.. hehe.

Welcome, and yes please post pics! And for your Roni! (is that like Ronnie, or like macaroni?)

Thank you, mews2much! I've seen your many helpful and supportive posts in the CRF thread, everyone posting there is so good to each other. I do feel much more informed after making my way through the thread - and I'm not finished yet.
The vet did take a x-ray of Roni to look for stones and nothing came up, but he said that not all stones show up on conventional x-rays. So I'm taking her for an ultrasound tomorrow at a different facility.
Her blood numbers are only slightly elevated:
BUN: 43
Crea: 2.5
But she is a little anemic which worries the vet (HCT: 26.4)

I guess I'll know more tomorrow... thanks again for the welcome

Oh, hi and thanks too, DarkMavis: It's like Macaroni, I had started calling her Cleo-roni, but soon dropped the Cleo part, even though that's her name
