sick kitty

my 1.5 yr cat has not been eating her food since last night and seems to have a fever. she didnt touch her food this morning either and has been acting very tired. she doesnt play with the other cat and is not interested in chasing laser pointer either. she has never had any medical problems before.

does this sort of thing happen to cats occasionally without a specific disease? (like humans catching a cold)
should i take her to the vet right away?

No, it doesn't... Please take her to the vet right away - do not wait to have an emergency during the night when the vet is closed.
Make sure to ask the vet if she is dehydrated, and if so, to give her fluids.
