Hello All,

Thought I should introduce myself. My name is actually Vanessa first off, I'm a stay-at-home mom with my 15 month-old son & another one on the way. When I'm not chasing the toddler around I'm usually gardening or baking. We live in a rural area, in a little house that backs on to pasture. I was working with horses before I quit to go on mat leave, my husband is an electrical apprentice (almost done! yippee!).

Right now we have:

2 dogs: Madison, 3 year old the border collie x doberman cross, and Kayla the almost 3 year old border collie x smooth coated collie. Madison came to us from a former roommate's dog that had puppies. Kayla we adopted at 9 months from a family in the city who couldn't properly care for her any more (no kidding!). They are both fantastic dogs who LOVE our cats and our son! They treat them like their own little puppies, grooming and playing with them, they even round up the cats on command if we ask (which the cats don't appreciate so we don't do that unless one gets out
).

1 horse: Meg, she's an 8 year old Iberian Warmblood, she's being leased to a friend as I can't ride right now.

3 cats: Miss kitty, Tasha & Peaches. All who have bios /\\. In short, M.K. was a stray that adopted my husband, Tasha (the feral) we adopted from the OSPCA, Peaches came do us from a barn about a week ago.

Oh, and there are a couple fish too, but nothing interesting.

I've had cats all my life, I grew up in a home with 2 dogs, 4 cats and 3 brothers and sisters; so a busy home with lots of furry love is not new to me! My husband grew up with 1 dog and no cats, so he's really "not a cat person"
(he's such a liar!!
). Hubby knows when we are able to purchase our dream farm there will be an open invitation to animals in need of a good loving home.

Tasha is the only cat I have ever adopted from a rescue, all my other cats have always been strays. It is the best feeling in the world to see them all cleaned up and happy in their new home. Kayla is the most thankful dog in the world (we believe she was abused) she shows us to it everyday by letting our son crawl all over her & try to ride her like a pony. It's amazing to think when we adopted both M.K. and Kayla neither of them understood how to "play" and now they are happy, well adjusted animals.
