Experiences? - Petmate Fountain & Dishwasher

I was just wondering if anyone had tried washing their Petmate water fountains in the dishwasher. The instructions say not to do so and obviously dishwaters, water temps, etc. will vary, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried it. It would be nice to be able to just run it through on the top rack, give it a good rinse & go.

I have Petmate and Drinkwell. What has worked with my dishwasher is to put them on the top rack, use "light wash" and turn to "air dry". I have been doing this for about a year now and so far both have held up without any problems.
