LOL I just gave my kitten a catnip treat and he has gone bonkers! I know lots of you know the effects of catnip but I've never given to a pussy cat before. Prince so far has jumped off all fours round the room, tried to bite my laptop, bounced up and down on the laptop and just had a wrestling match with my shorts- him thinking that they shouldnt be on my legs- so so funny! Thought Id share, sorry most of you have heard this before just im a proud kitten mummy of 5 days to 9 week old Prince!

I sooooooo love him!

The cuteness never stops either. I have had my cats for a few years now and they still make me laugh everyday.

oh i know what you mean my previous cat (who still lives with nanny and grandad) still makes me laugh now- she thinks she's a dog i kid you not! Rolling herself over for a tummy tickle and such like. When Cher was a kitten and we also had her brother Sonny, when i used to get home they would throw themselves at either trouser leg, claw their way and sit at my hips like gun holsters in the wild west all because they wanted their dinner! I cant wait for my new baby Prince to grow old with me.

Catnip affects, I am told, the same part of the feline brain that cannibis affects in the human brain. Some cats it makes them hyper and wild. Some it makes them sleepy and lethargic (how can one tell?). Some it doesn't affect at all.

My Zane has never reacted to dried catnip, but to fresh he does react.

One of my RB kitties Simon, used to go berserk on catnip. He'd roll around and get goofy. I can't use it anymore as it makes my two "combatants" Lucy and Moose too aggressive.

Kong makes cat toys now and one of my babies' favorite is called the "Kickaroo". It's also CHOCK FULL of catnip. Here's a photo of Charlie "in the zone". It cracks me up every time I see it; maybe it's the eyes...

Hehe, it makes Alafair wired, and then really calm. She gets really lovey too, it's funny. It also makes her eyes water
I haven't given it to Jason since he's gotten older. It made him bounce all over the place when he was younger.

Here's Alafair with her catnip sock.

These pictures make me laugh hehe
(Hmm... now that I think about it, it's the first time I've put up pictures of either of my cats...)

I feel so left out!
Neither of my cats have any interest in catnip. I've read that cats don't usually start being affected by it until about a year old, so I'm holding out hope that Lolly is a late bloomer and will start to love it eventually, but Fiona definitely couldn't care less.

My grey tabby, Merlin, is very much of an alpha cat and tends to bully my American Shorthair, Whimsey. However, under the influence of catnip, Whimsey goes and kicks Merlin's butt!

Best,

Elizabeth
