I have a two year old female cat that is currently at the vet to be spayed. When I took her in she had a fever and they discovered she had a UTI and struvite crystals in her urine. She is acting and eating normally but they don't want to do the spay with her having a fever. So that has been delayed.

My question is how freaked out should I be about UTI and fever? Is this something that she could die from or am I starting to panic prematurely????

Nuh uh...might give me away!
Luckily, your cat is female and has a lower risk of death (if ANY risk) associated with UTIs. If she were a he, you'd have to worry about blockages, which can cause death within 24-48 hours.

Has your vet started treatment? If so, don't panic.
Take a deep breath, and trust in your vet.

Have some vibes () for recovery!!

Thank you for your reply. I am just a little overprotective when it comes to my babies

Yes the vet is giving her some antibiotics and her fever had gone down but this morning it was back up so I told them to hold off on the spay until this weekend. They said she had an elevated white blood cell count?? I'm assuming that goes along with the UTI?
