Hello, Fran thank you for your answer at my questions from yesterday let me see for the questions of today....The Topic of today would be Music

Good Morning Rigel! Excellent topic

1.- Wich one is your favourite Genre of Music?

I have fairly eclectic taste, but if I had to choose one and never have another, it would be the classics for sure -- centuries of wonderful stuff!

2.- How many Cd´s do you have?

At a rough guess, probably 700 or so. The two CD towers together hold probably about 550, though everything is all over the place in stacks, to try and make some sense of it, and I know that there are many more than will fill that space.

3.- Wich one is your favourite singer Male?

Ben Heppner, maybe -- or Bryn Terfel?

4.- Wich one is your favourite singer Female?

Dawn Upshaw

5.- Have you ever to listened at http://www.rippingtons.com/ ?????

Can't say I have.

6.- Do you have a CD collection? ( I mean for example all Cd´s from a determinate artist???

There are a few artists, generally choirs, most or all of whose discography we have, Cambridge Singers, Chor Leoni, Chanticleer come to mind.

7.- Have you ever to participated in some Concert of your favourite artist?

We do go to live concerts -- not a lot of them.

8.- Do you have any preference to listen a Radio FM station???

CBC Radio 2 has been a favourite for a long time, though in the past couple of years they have made a lot of changes that I have not been happy with. Not enough to abandon it yet, but it's not on from the moment we wake until bedtime any more. I can listen to it online as well, and am doing so now.

Have you ever to listened this one??...,….
http://www.1.fm/Station/SmoothJazz/Default.aspx )

No I'm not familiar with that one.

9.- In your own opinion wich one is better, a CD original from an artist or an MP3 collage of music without nothing of information?...

They both have their place. Sometimes it's more important to have the liner notes and the continuity of programming; sometimes a somewhat random collection playing without interruption is what's best. I used to make tape collections to play in the office or the car, and still have a lot of them.

10.- Do you play some Musical instrument?…

Well, my instrument is voice. I took piano for two years as a kid. When my teacher retired I was at a particularly rebellious point in my study, so we didn't look for another teacher. It was enough to give me the basics of theory, though, and to make it possible to "woodshed" music I need to learn. And I've thought for a number of years that perhaps when I retire I'll take it up again. I'd especially like to be able to play Chopin and Scott Joplin.

Thank you my friend in advance for your nicely answers, I beg you love the music like I!...

I think our preferences are somehwat different, but in the end music is the language of the soul. Thanks for the questions.

Hi Rigel. Here goes...

1. What's your favorite hobby?...

I guess that would be cooking

2. What's one trait you hate about yourself?....

As my sweetie would say, "I would be a great procrastinor if I ever got around to it"

3. Name 3 thoughts at this exact moment:….

There's one mouthful of cold coffee in that mug UGH
Even in the cool basement it's hot UGH
What IS that guy next door up to?? UGH

4. What do you read in the bathroom?....

There's a basket of humour, cat books, assorted "wisdom" by the "throne" -- whatever comes to hand.

5. Current worry right now?....

Nothing for me, but the hot weather is making for a serious fire season in the Interior, and I worry for the people in danger of losing their homes.

6. Hight heels or low heels are you wearing right now?....

Bare feet, but if I had shoes on it would be low heels.

7. Favorite place to be on weekends?....

At home.

8. Where would you like to go?.....

Right now? Nowhere, it's too hot.

9. What´s your Favourite pop soda….

I don't really care for pop, except for the Italian ones, and even those I drink infrequently. I like Limonata or Aranciata with gin in the warm weather.

10. What colour shirt or blouse are you wearing right now?....

A black t-shirt with a cat cartoon on it -- three cats, their fronts on the front, and their backs on the back, and the title "Triplicat". It's ancient and very ratty, but comfortable. I wish I could replace it.

You have such a refined taste in cooking. When did your love of cooking start?
Hard to say. We always ate well at home -- never fancy, but interesting, well-prepared, nicely presented meals. I didn't DO a lot of cooking when I was still at home, a meal here or there, a little baking. My Dad was the family chef for most of my life. He and Mum switched places when I was about 7 I guess. I remember Mum's cooking, and to this day some of her specialties are some of our favourites. Anyway, Dad took over the househusband stuff and with it the cooking duties, which wasn't a chore for him, as he loved it. I learned by osmosis, I guess, and the one thing I really remember about food attitudes in our house was everyone is entitled to their taste, and it's to be respected, but you have to try the food before you declare you don't like it.

When I set out on my own, I spent a lot of time copying recipes, so that I could continue to have the things I loved, and I started out with a remarkably well equipped kitchen, and learned as I did stuff, that it was FUNFUNFUN to do this. Even cooking just for myself, I usually had fun, and I resorted to packages much less than most people cooking for one.

So, when did it start? I guess in any practical sense, when I moved out on my own and had to do it, but the seed was there long before that.
- in this set you said that you´re to 20 minutes from the beach...
so I can believe you didn´t try before to sailing my friend.,..

Well, it's about the equipment, too, not just the proximity to water. Rob did it when he was younger, but it's not something he's lilkely to get back into at this point in his life -- he's sunk enough $$ into that hole in the water, and the other one in the sky (he used to fly sailplanes, too) -- nor am I likely to take it up without him. Now, if a friend with a boat were to invite us out, I suspect we'd be there with bells on.

Good morning/afternoon/evening (whatever it may be by the time you read this)

Just gone noon, as I start. Good afternoon to you, too, Chris.

1. do you have any tattoos? If so, what and do they have meanings behind them that you are comfortable sharing.

No tattoos here. I have no difficulty with them -- a couple of friends have some that are neat -- but no desire to have one, either.

2. do you have any piercings? aside from the ears.

Just ears -- one piercing each -- very traditional. I don't wear earrings nearly as much as I used to, because almost everything causes them to be irritated, so I save it for special occasions, when it's just going to be a few hours.

3. Have you ever held a snake? If so, did you enjoy it or were you uncomfortable?

I never have, but wouldn't refuse the experience in the right circumstances, i.e. it would depend on the snake and my impression of its handler. I have the impression that they feel quite neat.

4. What is on your MP3 player right now? (or cd player, whatever fits)

No MP3, nothing in the CD player at the moment, but CBC Radio 2 is playing. The program is Tempo. It'll be on for another hour and a half or so, and then I'll figure out what to do next.

5. How many tvs do you have?

Two. The one that gets used is in the bedroom, mounted on the wall, so that we can watch in bed. I prefer not to have TV in the livingroom, if it can be avoided. The other one is in the family room, and I'm not even sure whether it is plugged in.

6. What is your all time favorite bought chocolate?

Easy question. Anything from Chocolate Arts There are no mistakes in that shop. It is past time we had a fix.

7. Whats your favorite colour, least favorite colour?

My favourite is not one single colour, but anything at the intersection of blue/green/grey -- it depends on how it's being used whether I prefer pastel, earth tones or jewel tones. My least favourite colour is most pinks -- very pale pink is OK in the right circumstances. My Mum loved to dress me in pink -- I'd had enough by my teens.

8. What's your favorite movie?

Being There

9. What's your favorite book?

Now, that's a difficult one. I don't think I have one favourite. There are lots that I want on my shelf, so I can go back to them, but no single book that I would call favourite.

10. Have you ever been anywhere on an actual holiday/vacation? (not counting any work trips)

We don't do a lot of travelling, preferring to rattle around our own turf when we have time on our hands. I often say that I feel bad for people who live here (Vancouver) and have to leave the area in order to get a vacation, because what they do for a living won't leave them alone. That said, if we do leave town, it's usually one of two things: [1]A few days driving and stopping and driving and stopping, with no real goal except to see some particular area. We did the Olympic Peninsula one October. We've talked about doing an Okanagan winery crawl. And every so often we need a Long Beach fix (see earlier post). [2]A specific destination for a specific purpose, usually some family thing. But a few years ago our choir did a tour of Central Mexico, which was an incredible experience.

11. What would your dream vacation be? (a cruise to some exotic island, a trainride across the country, etc.)

See previous answer. I can't identify a "dream" vaction, unless it's the one I get every year.
There are places I'd like to see if the circumstances were right, but none constitutes a dream.

12. Do you believe in ghosts?

I think so.

13. Would you accept $1 000 000 to leave the country and never step foot back in it again?

Nope.

14. Do you prefer being around men or women? (as in are most of your friends male or female, which do you get along with better)

I think it's about equal, actually.

15. Your house, containing everything you own, catches fire. After saving your loved ones and pets, you have time to safely make a final dash to save any one item. What would it be?

I think it would be the long-stitch rendering of Tom Thomson's Jack Pine that my Dad did in the last year of his life. He had some assistance with it, in the person of the crafts director at his care facility, but he did the bulk of the work, and more importantly that activity was so important to him. The work is actually quite lovely in that medium, and I considered it worthy of a proper framing job and a place in my dining room.

Many of the other things that came to mind are just as irreplaceable, but this carries my Dad's spirit in ways nothing else ever could.

16. Given the choice of anyone in the world (alive or dead), whom would you chose to meet?

I think I need to think on that one.

17. Do you prefer lots of questions, or not so many?

Either way is fine. Whichever works best for the "inquisitor"

18. Is there any subject that you do not talk about? (for me, I don't talk politics)

There's probably no subject I'll refuse out of hand, but that doesn't mean I will stay with one that is producing unnecessary tensions. I'll find a way to change the subject or walk away from it, if necessary.

19. Are you excited about anything right now?

Not really.

20. What would you like to be doing 5yrs from now? What do you think you will be doing 5yrs from now?

That's easy. I want to be retired, still living in the Vancouver area, with my sweetie and a bunch of kitties. And all things being equal, that's exactly what I expect to be doing.

Hi how is your day today?...I hope fine!.... let see for today …The topic of today going to be Movies!

Hi Rigel!

1.- Wich one is your favourite Genre of Movies?

I like lots of movies, but don't do well with gratuitous violence. If I had to choose one genre as my favourite, I guess it would be the Romantic Comedy. I go to movies primarily for entertainment, not education or other intellectual enrichment, so am less likely to be in the mood for something heavy.

2.- Do you collect DVD´s or VHS??,….How many do you have?

Oh, yes.
VHS: probably 80 or so -- there are about 40 right beside me and as many or more upstairs. DVD: we've not been at that for as long -- only about 20.

3.- Wich one is your favourite Actor Male?

Mmmm... Peter O'Toole came up in conversation the other day -- I'd say he's right up there -- along with Michael Caine, Peter Sellers. I don't really have a handle on the current ones.

4.- Wich one is your favourite Actor Female?

Katharine Hepburn? Meryl Streep?

5.- Have you ever to participated in some Special Event of your favourite artist?

I don't think so.

6.- Have you ever to saw in live to some artist? ( I mean is some restaurant, buying at mall or in some resort?)

Ah, the casual encounter? Not that I recall.

7.- Do you like to watch the Oscar Awards?

Not really.

8.- Have you ever to participated in a role in a Theather representation? ( maybe just for fun or when you was on School?) …

I used to do some Gilbert and Sullivan, but never anything that required acting on my part.

9.- If you could to meet to some artist wich one would be and say us why!...

There isn't any one artist that I would especially hope to meet. I'd probably be terribly tongue-tied, anyway.

10.- Would you like to live next at some artist (? ( I mean for example your neighboor would be a TV anchor or else?)……

No, thanks. They might be interesting people to meet, but I want a more "normal" neighbourhood -- whatever that is.

Cheers my friend…

And to you!

Ready for another quickly set?..
Sure.

1. Have you ever to sleeped on satin sheets?

Never. I imagine they would be lovely and smooth, but I wonder if they would "sleep warm" -- if that's the case, they wouldn't be for me no matter how lovely and smooth they were, since I sleep VERY warm, and would probably go nuts.

2. Can you whistle?..

Cause a whistling sound to come out of my mouth, yes. Come anywhere near a tune, no.

3. Favorite color?...

No one favourite colour, it's anything at the intersection of blue/green/grey

4. Would you be a Pirate? (Disguise for Halloween…..arrrrrrrrrrgh!)…

Sure, why not?

5. What songs do you sing in the shower?...

I don't sing in the shower.

6. Favorite Girl's Name?...

Not sure. It's a long while since I did any thinking about names for kids. Maybe something kind of classic, like Emily.

7. Favorite Baseball Team?..

Don't have a favourite anymore. Used to be the Expos, but they are no more

8. Favorite boy's name?...

I'm thinking maybe Jeremy. On the whole, I like names that are sort of classic without being stuffy, that work equally well in baby-talk and at a 100th birthday celebration.

9. What's in your pocket right now?...

Apart from the pocket grunge, a paper towel, and my PDA on the righthand side, and my ID case on the left.

10. Last thing that made you laugh?....

Probably my sweetie, but I don't remember the specifics right now. He makes me laugh many times a day. Some days it would be a tossup between him and the kitties, but they're too hot to be humourous today.

I'm using the Palm Tungsten E2. It's no longer the newest thing, but Palm is still selling it, and I've been happy with mine. You could do worse.

Hi It´s me again!............, how is your day today?...I hope fine!........I can see that someone had done their home work!........ let see for now …Ready for another set?.......The topic of now is of General stuffs around you life...

Hi Rigel! Another lazy day, and yes, I'm ready

1.- Wich one is the most crazy thing that have you ever do it???? ( I mean for example, Jump in parachute, Take a Snake live, Jump in Bungee etc)

I value my life more than to voluntarily do anything like skydiving or bungee jumping. Not quite chicken, but... I did go up with Rob when he was still flying sailplanes, and he did a few manoeuvres that might have upset some people, but I trusted him, so it was fun.

2.- Do you have indor plants at home?

Oh, yes. My boy has a green thumb, so there are plants all over the place
mostly dracaena, spider plants, and jade plants - and one pothos that just goes on and on. The cats aren't interested, except inasfaras it's fun to walk among them on window sills, occasionally resulting in incidents such as that described here.

3.- If you can travel in time and to meet to some historycal person WHO would be and Tell us why?...

I owe Chris an answer on a similar question and I'm still pondering it.

4.- If you have the money power to move to some part of the world ( of course with your kittys) wich place would be and why.....

I have no desire to move from where I am now.

5.- What is the thing that really anoy you on the persons.......( for example: the hypocresy, the envy etc)

As a general quality, probably dishonesty is the worst. In terms of pet peeves, I think the thing that annoys me most is when a person will not accept the answer to a question and insists on asking it over and over in slightly different words in the hope (expectation?) of receving the answer they had decided on before asking the question.

6.- Are you Religious?

I'm never sure how to answer this question. Do I believe in a power greater than I? Yes. Do I express that belief in part by participation in an organized religion? Yes. Do I believe that that particular organized religion is the only right one? No. Do I believe that people who choose another or none are any less loved/valued by the greater power than I? No. I think, in fact, that while, by some definitions, I might be called "religious", I prefer to think of myself as "spiritual".

7.- Favourite Salad?

Can't choose! I love salads, and it really does matter what it's going with. I make a mean Greek Salad.

8.- favourite pop soda?

For the most part I don't care for pop. The exception to this is the Italian sodas, Limonata and Aranciata. They are not nearly as sweet as the North American stuff, have a significant percentage of actual fruit juice in them, and are not aggressively fizzy. They're actually refreshing over a lot of ice on a hot day, and I like them in my gin, too.

9.- Choose one would you prefer to watch Sunrise or Sunset and tell us why......

They are both astonishingly wonderful. Sunset gets the nod, though, because it does not entail getting up before the birds. However, I can remember some extraordinarily beautiful sunrises in my youth, after a night out.

10.- Do you have a car? wich type is it?....

1989 Toyota Corolla - white - there are tons of them on the road still - it was a large litter.
Oh, her name is Sheba.

Have a nice afternoon my friend!....

Thanks! You, too.

those was a spectacular answers my friend... Thank you so much...

Glad you liked them

I got this card under my sleve..... Ready?

Yep.

1. Can you drive a motorcicle?...

Never tried. I can't say I'm particularly interested.

2 Worst injury you've ever had?...

Nothing earth-shattering. More sprains than I can count, but that's about it.

3. Do you love where you live?...

Absolutely! I really don't want to live anywhere else.

4. How many TVs do you have in your house?....

Two. The one that gets used is in the bedroom, mounted on the wall, so we can watch in bed. The other is in the family room, and I don't even know if it is plugged in.

5. Who is your loudest friend?...

Karen (not our Karen, another one). She's wonderfully wacky

6. Do you have any pets?(apart of your kitts of course )…....

Just my sweetie (he's an honorary kitty)

7. Does someone have a crush on you?...

Well, Facebook used to try to tell me how many of my friends had a crush on me, but I never let it tell me who they were. Other than that, I think I'm past the age of crushes.

8. Your favorite book(s)?

I don't think I can pick one, or even a few.

9. Do you collect anything?...

Cookbooks.

10. What song do you want played at your funeral?

I could give you the whole list of music I want, and hope there will be the resources available for. One piece that will be recognizable to at least some people reading this is the fourth movement from Brahms' German Requiem, "Wie Lieblich sind deine wohnungen", a completely sublime setting of Psalm 84.

ETA: Rigel's doing all the work. Anyone else?

Ok, Ill throw some in here because unlike most others posting, I actually know nothing of you!

1. How long is your hair now, and what is the longest/shortest it has ever been? Also, current/previous/preferred colours?

2. Have you always lived in Vancouver, or did you "come from somewhere else"?

3. When is the last time you visited the Capilano Suspension bridge? (I went in May during the Canadian Neuroscience Conference!)

4. How many kms on Sheba?

5. Have you ever visited a University research lab? What were your impressions?

5b. Personal feelings on the use of animals in research?

6. Should I drive from Edmonton to Vancouver for the experience??? Id have to rent a car, and can find flights under $100 all the time...

7. What are you doing during the olympics? Going to see any events?

8. Do you like to ride a bike?

9. To whom/what was the last charitable donation you made?

10. How do I make really delicious baked potatoes? I think I use the wrong kind, mine are never as nice and fluffy as my mom's were, and after last months asking her how to make corn on the cob
I figure I need someone else to give me this tip!

11. If you were paddling a canoe, and saw a strange person on shore, how many pancakes would fit in a birdcage?
