Sterling in the motorhome

We went for an overnight trip in the motorhome yesterday. We went down to Granbury, which is quite the tourist town. Anyway, we took Sterling with us. He's the most dependent of our 3 cats, and we want to get them all used to going in the motorhome occasionally.

Sterling is a true lover. And he wants to be near us. Sometimes VERY near!

Too cute!

How do you get a cat to peacefully ride in a car or motorhome? My cat cries continually on the way to the vet! We would love to take her places, but I don't know who would be stressed more, her or us!

Seriously though, is there a way to get them used to vehicle trips?

Yeah, by taking them on vehicle trips.

Sterling was pretty noisy at first, but then he settled down. He was not really comfortable, but he probably would be after a few days. Cats are very good at adjusting.

Punkin has traveled over 400,000 miles with us in our truck, before he retired.

Awwww those pics are great!! He looks like a real sweetie. Do you ever plan on taking all the cats together on any long trips? Sometimes, I think if Im ever going to travel again, thats the way Im going to have to travel.

Aw Mike - look at that gorgeous sweetie! Can't tell from the pics he's not comfortable.

It only took our kitties.... 1,200 miles to get comfortable. (Flowerbelle and Spooky were both up front with us on the last day of the drive home on our round trip to Brunswick, GA from NJ back in 2006).

Glad you're enjoying the "TCS mobile"!

My kitties scream their heads off on the way to the vet, I couldn't imagine an over night trip. I suppose it's like getting a dog used to riding in the car though...once they like it, that's all it takes, just take them every now and then so they stay used to it if you are not travelling.

He looks very comfortable.

I guess I shouldn't call it the motorhome. I should call it the TCS-mobile.

We both had our seatbelts on. No shoulder belts in that type of vehicle in that year, 1995. If you look, you'll see the black lap belts on both of us.
