Actually, the comment was in response to your post. I'm not sure who all makes the cut in your opinion of who is worthy to live or not.

Government programs can be a great safety net, unfortunately they don't always bring out the best in people. I was being, oh...what's that word? Facetious?

Didn't work, did it.

And yeah, you got that right. Americans have never done anything to help out anyone. And now they have the nerve to dispute what kind of healthcare coverage they want. They got some nerve.

My response re humans (well, the ones I was talking about can hardly be called humans), was actually in response to GloriaJH's post. As for who makes the cut for me, anyone who abuses animals by burning them alive or kills a bunch of people while on a spree do not make my cut by any means and I seriously resent spending my tax dollars feeding, clothing and educating them while they are in prison. I'd rather see my tax dollars go to help those humans that need a hand up.

Facetious I actually do understand and I didn't think it was actually all that "facetious" - I thought it was pretty good. Sophmoric is another one I like as well.

I didn't realize Americans wanted health care - my understanding from most of these posts are that they did not want a national health care program because they don't trust the government to run it but the posts I did read are more about a better health "insurance" program. Not the same thing IMO.

Nerve? That isn't what I would label it as, but each to their own.

But, I digress - back to veterinary costs.

Agreed. Canada's death penalty/extradition laws must irritate you a great deal. Funny, (not in the haha manner) I was just thinking yesterday about what a waste of money keeping Charles Manson in prison for 40 years has been.

Sophmoric. Good one. No one's used that on me before.

But about the rising cost of veterinary care. Are veterinary medications the same as those for people when it comes to when they go generic? Take Advantage, the cost of those few drops in a tube has got to be pennies. The tube itself probably costs more. I'm sure they (Bayer?) more than made their fortune from it, and now with the new ones on the market (Multi, Advantix) to keep the dough rolling in, I keep wondering when it will become more affordable. And if it's already out there, well duh.

At my age, I've learned not to let many things or people irritate me. Some things can be changed and if they can't, then I don't sweat it.

I wasn't actually using sophmoric "on you", just saying it was one of my favourite words in the same category as sophmoric. Sphygmomanometer is another favourite word or mine but neither have any relevance to this original topic.

As for generic animal medications, I honestly don't know if there are any. I do know there are knock-offs offered on the internet as the real stuff for a much lower price though.
